Tad Wilkinson charged with elder abuse after causing man to dislocate hip during assault

Police say 25-year-old Tad Wilkinson caused an elderly man to dislocate his hip during a physical altercation. On the 15th, officer Driskell responded to an elderly abuse call for victim Iven Crockarell on Bunker Hill Rd. Iven’s wife called in to make the report. She and her husband were watching their great-granddaughter at their home. The child’s father, Tad, called Iven and told him he would be coming to their house to pick up his daughter. The victim stated that while on the phone, Wilkinson threatened to hit him, and when he arrived, he became argumentative. Mr. and Mrs. Crockarell asked Wilkinson to leave.

Wilkinson still argued as he headed back to his vehicle; he started to drive away but decided to park his car and returned to get into the victim’s face. Mr. Crockarell felt as though Wilkinson was going to hit him due to the threats during the phone call, so he pushed him away, and Wilkinson pushed him back, and the victim fell to the ground. Mr. Crockarell was able to get up, but Wilkinson pushed him back down, and then Mr. Crockarell could no longer get up after that. The neighbor spoke as a witness confirming the events from the whole encounter. When officers arrived on the scene, Mr. Crockarell was lying on the ground with injuries to his face, hands, and elbows. He also suffered a dislocated hip.

Tad Alexander Wilkinson of Terraceside Cir in Clarksville, TN, was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on February 18th, charged with abuse of elderly. A judicial commissioner set his bond at $20,000.

  1. love how this was spun to make it look like the man did nothing wrong. lets make sure we mention that the wife was actually blocking the door to Tads car so he couldnt get in. And the only reason Tad got back out of the car was because the old man decided to pull a gun and point it at the car with A WHOLE CHILD IN THE CAR… His “great-grandchild” that he was willing to put in danger because he put his hands on someone first. Not to mention Tad actually helped him out of the street. Post the whole story if youre going to post it. Lets not believe everything we read.

    1. In response to MacKenzie comments, I am the wife of the elderly man who was assaulted. I know you want to believe what was told to you, but the actual truth is I DID NOT AT ANY TIME BLOCK HIM FROM ENTERING HIS CAR (Which was on the road). I WAS STANDING BESIDE MY HUSBAND THE ENTIRE TIME. NOR DID MY HUSBAND POINT THE GUN AT THE CAR AT ANY TIME NOT EVEN AT TAD. HE WAS A TRAINED LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER WITH 42 YEARS OF SERVICE. HIS ONLY THOUGHT WAS FOR PROTECTION OF ME. WE KNEW OF THE VIOLENT TEMPER OF THIS YOUNG MAN, THEREFORE MY HUSBAND UNDERSTOOD WHAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED. YES, TAD DID ATTEMPT TO HELP HIM UP WHILE STILL YELLING AND PROVOKING HIM ON THE GROUND. MY HUSBAND COULDN’T GET UP BECAUSE HIS HIP WAS KNOCKED OUT OF JOINT PLUS TAD HIT HIM IN THE JAW. BEAR IN MIND, MACKENZIE, THIS WAS A 74 YEAR OLD MAN WHO WASN’T IN GOOD HEALTH. HE LOVED HIS GREAT GRANDDAUGHTER AND WAS CONCERNED ABOUT TAD’S BEHAVIOR WHILE HIS OWN DAUGHTER WAS AWARE OF EVERYTHING GOING ON. THERE WERE WITNESSES, MACKENZIE. NOW THAT MY HUSBAND IS DECEASED WHAT SAY YOU.?
