46-year-old Jason Lee White failed to yield to a patrol car’s right of way on Somerset Road in the early hours of February 11th. Then, after completing his turn, he entered the furthest lane. Officers observed this, so they conducted a traffic stop. They noticed a strong odor of alcohol as they approached the driver’s side and asked him to exit the vehicle to take sobriety tests. White consented and performed poorly. While White was being transported to Tennova, he repeatedly expressed that he would not consent to a blood draw with or without a warrant, telling them, “Ain’t nobody going to stick me with no needle.” White was taken into custody for tampering with evidence, failure to yield, improper turn, and driving under the influence.

DUI: Latoshia Vanpelt found passed out drunk in front of McDonald’s

45-year-old Latoshia Vanpelt was jailed on February 17th when police were flagged down at North 2nd Street. A male informed officers that a white vehicle was stopped in front of McDonald’s. Officers pulled behind the car and observed the light turn green. The vehicle did not move despite the light becoming green. Officers approached the car, tapped on the driver’s side window, and found Vanpelt asleep in the driver’s seat. Eventually, Vanpelt opened the door while the vehicle was still in drive, and the vehicle moved forward a few feet. Vanpelt then put the car in park and stated she was getting off from work at Richland Healthcare Center in Nashville. Vanpelt exited her vehicle to perform sobriety tests when officers smelled alcohol coming from her body. Vanpelt performed poorly on sobriety tests and was placed into custody for Driving under the influence.

DUI: Timothy Russell swerves into oncoming traffic

40-year-old Timothy Russell was seen swerving into oncoming traffic in a silver Nissan Altima at Fort Campbell Boulevard on February 25th. Officers made contact and noticed a strong odor of alcohol as they approached Russell, who admitted to consuming “a couple of shots.” They conducted a probable cause search of his vehicle and located a bag of marijuana. Russell consented to sobriety tests, performed poorly, and then, after being informed about implied consent, refused to provide a blood sample. Timothy Russell was taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence, implied consent, and possession of drugs.

DUI: Daniel Harmon flees after causing accident, woman life-flighted to Vanderbilt

26-year-old Daniel Harmon was involved in a car crash at the Zaxby’s on Fort Campbell Boulevard on February 24th. Witnesses called 911, stating that a white Jeep was involved in a crash and left the scene. Officers observed a gold Saturn with extensive damage to its rear when they arrived. An off-duty state trooper followed the Jeep and made contact with the owner, Daniel Harmon, to ensure he was okay. The trooper informed officers that he told Harmon to call 911, but he refused and drove off. Harmon was seen driving erratically up Fort Campbell Boulevard and getting out of his vehicle while it was still in motion to put the hood down.

He eventually came to a stop at the intersection of Robert and Charles Avenue, where officers caught up with him. Officers spoke with Harmon, who told them he was returning from golfing in Murfreesboro. When officers asked him about the crash, he stated that he knew he was in one and that he was trying to circle back around to the scene. He then admitted that he had drunk 2-3 drinks of “Captain.” Harmon refused to perform sobriety tests. Officers searched through Harmon’s car and found a half-empty bottle of Jameson.

The driver of the gold Saturn was life-flighted to Vanderbilt Hospital due to the severity of her injuries. Daniel Harmon was taken into custody and charged with an open container, leaving the scene with injury, and driving under the influence.

DUI: Lakyea Rosenberger urinates on herself after crashing car on Peachers Mill Road

31-year-old Lakyea Rosenberger was involved in a crash on Peachers Mill Road on the night of February 24th. Officers arrived and noticed a strong odor of alcohol as they approached Rosenberger. Rosenberger then admitted to consuming an alcoholic beverage before driving. Officers noted that Rosenberger had also urinated on herself. Rosenberger consented to sobriety tests, performed poorly, and agreed to provide a breath sample with a final result of .093 BAC. Rosenberger was taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence on February 25th.

DUI: Rebekah Pannell passed out drunk in Ford Focus after drinking at Electric Cowboy

21-year-old Rebekah Pannell, an employee of Buffalo Wild Wings, was found sleeping in a Ford Focus with the vehicle still in drive at the intersection of Needmore and Trenton Road on February 24th. After knocking on the driver’s side window multiple times, Pannell woke up and was instructed to step out of the vehicle. Once Pannell opened the door, officers observed that she had bloodshot eyes and smelt like alcohol. Pannell stated that she could not perform any field sobriety tests because she was having trouble balancing. Pannell added that she was at the troubled Electric Cowboy and had drank two or three rum and cokes. An officer told Pannell that he would like her to try to execute some field sobriety tests to see if she was okay to drive. Pannell agreed to perform the sobriety tests and performed poorly. Officers arrested Pannell and searched her vehicle, which yielded empty Cayman Jack Margarita containers in the center console and a case of Cayman Jack Margaritas in the passenger floorboard. After being informed about implied consent, Pannell agreed to provide a blood sample and was transported to Tennova Medical Care. Rebekah Pannell was taken into custody for driving under the influence and open container on February 24th.

DUI: Miyah Hall crashes car after drinking one margarita

29-year-old Miyah Hall was involved in a car crash at Cumberland Drive on February 24th. Officers made contact and noticed a strong odor of alcohol and marijuana as they approached her. Hall was found in the passenger seat of the vehicle. Hall told officers that she was not the driver of the vehicle. While EMS checked Hall out, Hall told them she was driving home after meeting her boyfriend. Once the officers conducted a probable cause search of her vehicle, they located marijuana and multiple open containers. Hall could not perform field sobriety tests due to the injuries she sustained during the crash. Once EMS transported her to Tennova, Hall admitted to a doctor that she had a margarita before driving. Miyah Hall was taken into custody and charged with simple possession, open container, and driving while under the influence.

Officers found 45-year-old Michael Trottman attempting to push the back end of his vehicle off the guard rail at Kennedy Lane on February 17th. The car was still in drive, with the driver’s side back tire moving fast. Trottman explained that he was backing up from the travel lodge entrance when he backed up onto the guard rail, lifting his back tires off the ground. Officers smelled a powerful odor of alcohol coming from Trottman’s body, and Trottman was having a hard time standing up straight without losing balance. Trottman told officers that he had one drink with a friend and consented to sobriety tests. Trottman then performed poorly and stated that he couldn’t do it even if he were sober. Trottman was then taken into custody, and an open bottle of vodka was found on the passenger floorboard.

DUI: Madison Barger drinks before crashing car in someone’s front yard

34-year-old Madison Barger lost control of her car and ended up in the yard of a Greenwood Avenue residence early February 20th. When officers arrived, they noticed an odor of alcohol coming from Barger. EMS personnel checked Barger out for injuries, during which she started swaying back and forth. Officers approached Barger’s vehicle and noticed opened packages of Delta 8 gummies in the passenger seat. Due to probable cause, they informed Barger of implied consent, but she still refused to provide a blood or breath sample. Officers searched Barger after they detained her, and she fell backward onto them. During a search of Barger’s vehicle, officers found Delta 8 gummies, THC gummies, and THC dab vape pen with a ¾ full cartridge attached to it. Barger was transported to Sango ER after officers obtained a warrant for a blood sample. Madison Barger was taken into custody for driving under the influence, implied consent, and simple possession.

During a search of Hilton’s car, officers found an Angry Orchard Hard Cider bottle under the driver’s seat and some empty THC packaging. During a post-Miranda Warning, Hilton stated he had consumed 3 “vodka drinks” 45 minutes before officers found him. Terence Hilton was taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence.

DUI: Jeffrey Waller found unconscious in vehicle on I-24

45-year-old Jeffrey Waller was jailed on February 7th after officers observed him parked on the right shoulder of I-24. When officers arrived, they noticed the driver and passenger slumped over sleeping. Officers knocked and banged on the window to wake them, but neither of them would wake up. Officers called for another unit and an ambulance and finally got into the vehicle. The passenger woke up once the police got inside the vehicle. Officers had to administer Narcan and sternum rubs until the driver finally awoke. Waller was identified as the driver. Waller was slurring his speech and seemed very incoherent. Waller nearly fell out of the vehicle while exiting and could not hold himself up. Waller was drooling as officers helped him walk to the patrol vehicle. Waller was taken into custody and was transported to Tennova for a suspected overdose. Waller was charged with DUI on February 7th.
