Jalen Smith charged in assault of wife during argument about a phone

21-year-old Jalen Smith and Noemi Rodriguez-Smith, his wife, were arguing about a phone before things turned physical on the night of October 3rd. Officers were dispatched to Barry Dr. regarding a domestic dispute and spoke with his wife, Noemi Rodriguez-Smith, who told officers that after an argument ensued, Smith became angry and pushed her to the ground. Officers observed minor injuries on Smith’s wife that she says were from the push. Smith was taken into custody for domestic assault.

Kelly Leo Desir jailed after lying to police about stolen laptop for insurance claim

27-year-old Kelly Leo Desir reported that his Macbook Pro was stolen out of his vehicle on June 11th and filed an insurance claim with USAA stating his property was stolen. On June 26th, Desir sent a photo of the “stolen” laptop to USAA for their investigation. Their investigators used the embedded metadata from that photo to determine it was actually taken after the laptop was supposedly stolen. He admitted to the USAA investigator that the laptop was in a repair shop and was not stolen. USAA turned those transcripts over to police, who issued a warrant for Desir’s arrest.

Soldier Dakota Cox plows through gate after police lock him inside park after-hours

19-year-old Fort Campbell Soldier Dakota Cox was arrested on September 11th after reportedly backing into the security gate at Billy Dunlop Park once his truck was locked in. On August 25th, a Clarksville Police Department officer drove through the park and locked the three vehicles at closing time, marking their license plate numbers on a call to dispatch. Roughly 30 minutes later, someone made a call to CPD about their car being locked in the park, and they were advised to come back in the morning due to no officers being available. This witness told CPD that the gate had been backed into with a truck by a young male, resulting in damages nearing $3,000.

After reviewing the license plates marked by the officer before closing the gate, it was determined that the only truck located at the park at the time was registered to a Kentucky address. On August 29th, a detective was able to interview the defendant, who stated that the vehicle was solely his, and he backed into the gate to get it open. Damages to the back of the truck were consistent with the marks on the gate. Due to this, a warrant was issued on Sep. 11th, and Cox was taken into custody.

DUI: Soldier Braxton Wells jailed after drinking at Electric Cowboy bar

25-year-old Fort Campbell Soldier Braxton Wells was jailed on September 23rd after police responded to calls of a black Dodge Challenger sitting in the turning lane on Riverside Drive to 2nd Street for a few light cycles. Police asked Wells to step out of his vehicle and immediately smelled alcohol coming from his body. He had watery eyes and was unsteady on his feet. Wells admitted that he was drinking while at the troubled Electric Cowboy and performed poorly on sobriety tests. Police found a thermal mug filled with alcohol during the vehicle search.

Fort Campbell Soldier Ki’Eric Hicks charged after drunken hit-and-run

24-year-old Ki’Eric Hicks admitted to driving a Dodge Charger that was involved in an accident with a Jeep on Neptune Dr. on September 17th. Police noticed damage to the front end of the Charger and the rear end of the Jeep. Inside the Charger, officers found a .45 caliber Citadel handgun and two Crown Royal airplane bottles. Ki’Eric had signs of intoxication when he walked up and spoke to the police. He refused to perform sobriety tests and consented to a blood draw.

DUI: Soldier Nathan Heinzelman blows 0.144% BAC after “four shots of Ciroc”

Clarksville Police Department Officer Atwell observed an Acura traveling northbound on Fort Campbell Boulevard doing five miles an hour under the speed limit. It having trouble staying in it’s lane, veering left and right multiple times on the morning of September 17th. Officer Atwell initiated a traffic stop at Fort Campbell Blvd. and Lady Marion Road and observed the driver driving slowly towards the shoulder, although there was no traffic to yield, and ran into a concrete curb with the passenger side tires before stopping. Atwell then asked the driver, 20-year-old-soldier Nathan Heinzelman, if he had been drinking, which he denied.

He agreed to field sobriety tests and performed poorly, then was placed in custody for driving under the influence. Heinzelman was mirandized and asked again if he had been drinking and agreed to have four shots of Cîroc. Officer Atwell read the Tennessee Implied Consent to Heinzelman and agreed to perform a breath test, which resulted in 0.144% BAC. He was charged with Underage DUI.

26-year-old Infantryman Tahjier Clayton was jailed for assaulting his wife after an argument on Sinclair Drive on September 7. Police responded to the apartment building and spoke with Mariah Clayton, who said that during the argument, her husband wanted her to leave, but she refused and was pulled off the couch by her shirt and pushed toward the door. She refused to write a statement.

Soldier Austin Hagerty charged with assaulting his wife as she wants time away from him

26-year-old Fort Campbell Soldier Austin Hagerty was jailed on September 8th after assaulting his wife when she tried to leave for Kentucky with their son. Kayla Haggerty told police that she and her husband were in the process of getting divorced and had been arguing constantly. To avoid arguing all weekend, she decided she would stay with her parents, who live near Fort Knox. Kayla came home from work and began packing bags for their child and herself.

Austin told her she wasn’t going anywhere with their son due to him having to get stitches removed at BACH the next day. Kayla then called BACH to ask about getting the stitches removed, which they advised could be done by an urgent care or on post at Fort Knox. Kayla grabbed her bags and began going downstairs, where Austin followed and continued telling her she wasn’t taking his son anywhere. She finally made her way out the door and to the car, where she placed her son in his seat. Austin reached over her while she was bent over and grabbed her and his son’s arm, causing them to spin out of the vehicle.

Breana and Tyler met up for dinner and a movie on June 23rd and then went their separate ways. Breana continued to call and text Tyler and was even showing up at his house. One night, he had more than ten missed calls from Breana. She has also reached out to his family members.

Deangelo Palmer strangles wife with belt while swinging her around room by neck

26-year-old Deangelo Palmer was jailed on July 23rd after brutally assaulting his wife at their home on White Birch Court. Jaquala Hayes told police on July 22nd Palmer became angry, grabbed a belt, looped it through the buckle, and strangled her with it. She described the room getting dark and having difficulty breathing until she was able to get her hands in between the belt and her neck to create room. Once her hands were between the belt, he swung her around the living room, then took the belt from around her neck and started whipping her with it. Police observed a bruise on her left arm that was visible from the day prior.

Army’s Bruce Conrad drunkenly sleeps on sidewalk in front of Clarksville hotel

49-year-old U.S. Army Soldier Bruce Conrad was found sleeping on the sidewalk in front of the Hampton Inn & Suites near Exit 4 just before 5 a.m. on July 22. Officers responded to a call from hotel staff and awakened Conrad, who stated an Uber had dropped him off at the wrong hotel. He was extremely intoxicated and refused multiple officers to arrange a ride back to his correct hotel. He was taken into custody and charged with public intoxication.

23-year-old Darien Brooks was jailed on July 22nd when police observed him speeding down Tiny Town. Police radar confirmed he was going 61 mph in a 45 mph zone. When officers made contact with Mr. Brooks, they smelled alcohol emitting from his body. He had watery eyes and slowed speech. He told the officer that he had “one four loco.” Police saw a white cup in the center console, which Mr. Books admitted to being alcohol. He consented to sobriety tests, performed poorly, and was taken to Tennova for a blood sample.

24-year-old Fort Campbell soldier Taja Murry was booked last week for assaulting her husband after she saw text messages to other women on his laptop. She took the laptop and went to her apartment on Tiny Town Road, where he arrived asking for his laptop back. Murry invites her husband in multiple times, and when he finally agrees to enter, she punches him in the face twice. This attack was caught on Murry’s Ring doorbell. The two tussles and make their way to the back o the living room, where the camera no longer captures them. Her husband, Justin Malcolm, makes his way upstairs and finally gets his laptop back. They make their way outside, where they are seen on camera fighting each other with closed fists.

Soldier Trevor Calhoun jailed after drunkenly fighting with other soldiers

23-year-old Fort Campbell soldier Trevor Calhoun was involved in a fight with fellow soldiers just after 10 p.m. on June 15 on Robb Avenue. Officers arrived to find him with bloody clothing and injuries to his face. He would not provide the names of the multiple people who assaulted him, only confirming they were fellow soldiers. He was visibly intoxicated and reeked of alcohol. He admitted to having “two drinks” earlier in the night. Due to the multiple calls about the fight and his condition, Calhoun was taken into custody and charged with public intoxication and disorderly conduct.

Sedrick Pete charged with public intoxication after leaving Clarksville bar

35-year-old Sedrick Pete was jailed on June 9th when police responded to Park Lane to find him lying passed out on the ground next to the road at Park Lane / Rebecca Lane. When he awoke, police could smell alcohol coming from his body, and he admitted to coming from a nearby bar. Mr. Pete was taken into custody as he was unable to care for himself.

23-year-old Fort Campbell soldier Joshua Trent Geer ran through a ditch near the Exxon on Dover Road just before 2 a.m. on June 10 and was found with his airbags deployed and two front flat tires by responding officers. He stated he “might have caught the corner of the ditch” when asked what happened. He admitted to consuming two Pabst Blue Ribbon beers before driving and performed poorly on field sobriety tests. He was transported to Tennova for a blood draw, and then to booking.

Soldier Wyatt Gibson charged with punching wife in chest; pushing her to the ground

24-year-old Wyatt Gibson was jailed on June 7th after assaulting his wife at their home on Hadley Drive. When police arrived, they saw Ryan Griffith visibly distressed outside her residence. She told police she had an argument with her husband, and he left the house. He barged back into the house about an hour later, and Ryan was sitting on the couch with her neighbor. Gibson initially started arguing with the neighbor, who immediately ran out. Ryan stood up to go ask Gibson what was wrong, and he pushed her to the ground. He then went into their bedroom and began breaking things. Ryan followed him and asked him again what was wrong. According to Ryan, Gibson pushed her onto the bed and punched her in the chest three to four times.

Fort Cambell Soldier Graham Miller charged in assault of wife

22-year-old Graham Miller is charged is the assault of his wife, Joanna Miller, at their State Line Road apartment on June 2. She told police the two were in a verbal argument over marital issues when he suddenly and forcibly took the keys to a shared vehicle from her hands. He then took the glasses from her face and toss them across the room. She said this repeated three times while he stood in the doorway, telling her she couldn’t leave. She then punched him in an attempt to escape and ripped a necklace from his neck. He then ripped a necklace from her neck. She says he also noticed a bracelet on her wrist and ripped it away, too. He then took her phone and placed it outside the apartment, and stated she needed to leave the residence. She left and called 911. Graham was determined to be the primary aggressor and was transported to jail.

Soldier Brandon Brown had Twisted Teas while fishing before driving his Jeep

26-year-old Fort Campbell soldier Brandon Brown told police he consumed a six-pack of Twisted Tea drinks while fishing on June 2 before getting behind the wheel of his silver Jeep just before 10 p.m. He was observed traveling 70 mph in a 55 mph zone on Hwy 149 near Hemitite Road. As the officer conducted a traffic stop, Brown reportedly reeked of alcohol and had bloodshot eyes. He performed poorly on field sobriety tests and was taken into custody, charged with DUI.
