Sam’s Discount Tobacco Robbery case to be tried after nearly a 7-year wait — Marquis Moultrie in custody

After nearly a 7-year wait, 28-year-old Marquis Moultrie is in the Montgomery County Jail, charged with the 2015 aggravated robbery of Sam’s Discount Tobacco. Police say he forced his way inside while carrying a pistol, injuring the store owner. He threw the register to the ground when he couldn’t get the cables free to flee with it. After fleeing to South Carolina in 2015, he faced new charges and a prison sentence there for pointing and presenting a firearm, petit larceny, assault and battery 1st degree, burglary 1st degree, burglary 2nd degree, grand larceny, probation violation, failure to stop for blue lights and fleeing to evade arrest. He was eventually arrested in South Carolina in September of 2018 on all of those warrants.

Christopher Clark charged in murder of William Eakes, Jr., in Walmart shooting — Fort Campbell Blvd

On March 1st, at approximately 11:54 pm, the Clarksville Police Department responded to a shooting in progress call at Walmart, 1680 Ft. Campbell Blvd. At 12:11 am, officers located the suspect, 42-year-old Christopher Clark (white male), coming out of the woods behind Planet Fitness, 1600 Ft. Campbell Blvd.  Clark was taken into custody without incident. The victim has been identified as 55-year-old William Eakes Jr. (white male). At this time there is no known connection between Clark and Eakes.

Shooting at Clarksville Waffle House

At 2:55 am, The Clarksville Police Department received several calls about a shooting that occurred at the Waffle House, 1683 Ft. Campbell Blvd. When officers arrived on the scene, they located one individual with 2 gunshot wounds and he was life-flighted to Nashville. The victim appears to have been inside a car when shot, which then crashed. Witnesses report hearing at least twenty shots.

Two other people drove themselves or were dropped off at Tennova Hospital and Blanchfield Army Community Hospital (BACH). They stated that they were at the Waffle House when the shooting occurred and their injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.  The status of the individual that was life-flighted is unknown at this time.
