43-year-old Randall Rau was involved in a domestic altercation with his ex-wife, Amber Rau, at a Ladd Drive residence on March 29th. Amber stated that when she and her current boyfriend, Jacob Dwyer, returned home to the residence, Randall showed up and started yelling at her. He then verbally argued with Dwyer before he grabbed a baseball bat and began swinging it at him.

Randall then dropped the bat and started swinging fists at Dwyer but could not hit him. Amber believed Randall was intoxicated, prompting her to call officers out of fear for her safety. 29-year-old Edwin Chaparro was caught driving under the influence near Peachers Mill Road and Providence Boulevard on May 4th. A complainant advised that a Volkswagen hit a curb and made a turn in a non-turn lane. Officers noticed the vehicle’s inability to maintain its lane heading south toward North Riverside Drive. Officers initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle at the Electric Cowboy and spoke with Chaparro.

During the conversation, officers noticed the smell of alcohol emitting from the vehicle as well as Chaparros’s Glassy eyes and slurred speech. Chaparro admitted to officers that he had a shot of whiskey and was coming from Tippers, a bar on Tiny Town Road. Officers then asked him to perform sobriety tests, which he performed poorly, and he was taken into custody for DUI.

Harold Taylor threatens man with gun at gas station over his father’s will money

On May 2nd, 63-year-old Harold Taylor was seen brandishing a firearm at a gas station on Dotsonville Road. Officers arrived on the scene and spoke with Brian Kisor, who stated that Taylor drove up to him while he was pumping gas and pointed a firearm at him in anger. Kisor then claims that his wife used to watch Taylor’s Father before he passed. Kisor noted that Taylor was upset about how the will was written, as his father left him no money. According to Kisor, Taylor had become angry and aggressive toward his family, threatening them in previous encounters. As Kisor was pumping gas, Taylor drove close to him and said, “I’m going to kill you.” Taylor then pointed a firearm at Kisor and his 14-year-old son, who was also in the car. Kisor responded by pointing the gas pump at Taylor and said, “I’ll spray you.” Taylor then re-holstered his firearm and left the scene. The entire interaction was captured on the gas station security camera, which showed Taylor brandishing the weapon. Taylor was taken into custody for two counts of aggravated assault on May 5th.

Shaina Sheffey punches husband, threatens him with gun during altercation

30-year-old Shaina Sheffey was involved in a domestic altercation with her husband, Oliver Bowles, at their home on April 29th. When officers arrived, they spoke with Bowles. Bowles informed them that Sheffey was consuming alcohol before the incident happened. According to Bowles, Sheffey pointed a pistol at him and told him that she was going to harm him. When officers got a hold of the firearm, the safety was on, and there was a round in the chamber. Officers later made contact and noticed signs of intoxication as they approached Sheffey. Sheffey told officers that she did have possession of the firearm but that she was trying to move it somewhere else to get it away from their child. Sheffey also admitted that she argued with Bowles but said nothing physically happened. Through further investigation, officers received video evidence of Sheffey hitting Bowles multiple times while in possession of the pistol. Shaina Sheffey was taken into custody and charged with aggravated domestic assault and possession of a firearm while under the influence.

46-year-old Herbert Jones was caught with a stolen Freightliner semi-truck near Motel 6 on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard on May 9th, 2024. The vehicle was reported stolen in 2023. Officers made contact with Jones, who claimed that he had purchased the truck from someone named Rod Patrick in November 2023. Jones had no paperwork about the sale and stated that he paid $40,000 in cash for the vehicle. The vehicle was registered in his name, and the seller gave another title. All the VINs were removed prior to the sale except one located on the engine, which did not match the registration VIN. The truck was valued at $90,000. Jones was taken into custody for possession of stolen property.

26-year-old Brishiana Cota was stopped because of her window tint on May 6th. During the traffic stop, officers noticed a strong odor of alcohol. Cota admitted that she had drunk some alcoholic beverages before she started driving. Cota refused to perform sobriety tests because she said that she would fail. When officers checked Cota’s window with a tint meter, it showed that Cota’s window was 13% lower than the legal 35% limit. An officer also spotted a Cayman Jack Margarita in her car. 18-year-old Parisss Berry was involved in an altercation with her mother, Shontell Mosley, at the Crossland Manor Apartments on May 8th. A witness of the incident, Elijah Epperson, stated that he attempted to separate them, but Berry lunged past him and struck Mosley.
