DUI: Charles Garret caught with handgun during traffic stop over illegal tint

22-year-old Charles Garret was pulled over on June 2nd for an illegal tint on his white Honda sedan on I-24. Officers made contact and noticed a strong odor of alcohol as they approached Garret. While speaking to Garret, officers observed a Glock 17 handgun at his feet. Garret agreed to sobriety tests but showed signs of intoxication, so he was taken into custody and read implied consent. After refusing to provide a blood sample, Garret was transported to booking and charged with driving under the influence, possession of a handgun while under the influence, window tint, and implied consent violation.

DUI: Brishiana Cota tells police she’s too drunk to pass sobriety tests

26-year-old Brishiana Cota was stopped because of her window tint on May 6th. During the traffic stop, officers noticed a strong odor of alcohol. Cota admitted that she had drunk some alcoholic beverages before she started driving. Cota refused to perform sobriety tests because she said that she would fail. When officers checked Cota’s window with a tint meter, it showed that Cota’s window was 13% lower than the legal 35% limit. An officer also spotted a Cayman Jack Margarita in her car. Brishiana Cota was then taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence, having no proof of insurance, and having an illegal window tint.

Jeremiah Usita almost collides with police while speeding on Ashland City Road

22-year-old Jeremiah Usita was speeding on Ashland City Road on March 20th. Usita was recorded traveling at 86mph in a 50mph zone. Officers came into contact with Usita after avoiding a head-on collision due to Usita’s recklessness. A search of Usita’s driving history revealed a separate occasion a year ago when Usita was going 70mph in a 40mph zone. Jeremiah Usita was taken into custody and charged with reckless driving, improper passing, speeding, and window tint.

Corey Slinker caught with 87 grams of THC wax

18-year-old Corey Slinker was stopped at the Shell Gas Station on Dean Road on February 25th for illegal window tint on his white Ford Fusion. Officers made contact and noticed a strong odor of marijuana as they approached Slinker. When the officers brought up his tint, he stated it was 5%. They conducted a probable cause search of his vehicle and located a glass jar that weighed around 87 grams and was labeled “HEAD STASH” and “THC 76%.” The officers believed the substance inside the jar to be THC wax. Slinker took ownership and was taken into custody and charged with window tint and felony drugs.
