Domestic Violence Advocate charged in assault of her husband — Heather Goodmancave arrested

30-year-old Heather Goodman-Cave was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on Christmas Day, charged with the domestic assault of her husband, Justin Goodman-Cave, after she reportedly accused him of being unfaithful and assaulted him with her fists and a laptop. She is free on a $250 cash bond.

Goodman has worked with the Tennessee Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence, and is a prominent figure in the domestic violence resource community, frequently being the public face of the organization at events. Police noted a history of domestic violence calls between the couple.

Clarksville Police will no longer tow vehicles for parking violations, despite $500K in unpaid fines

In a recent City of Clarksville Parking Commission meeting, it was revealed that the Clarksville Police Police Department is now refusing tow requests from the city’s parking enforcement officers. This, combined with the city’s fear to take on the liability for booting illegally parked vehicles, will continue to add to the over $500,000 of unpaid fines, and lack of downtown parking availability, as people know they can park all day without paying the meter, without any penalty or enforcement.

The city currently has no viable way to collect unpaid tickets or enforce the laws on vehicles. The city has stopped projecting unpaid fines as potential revenue until it’s collected since so little of it is ever paid.

Citizens block in suspected impaired driver until police arrive — Tommy Riddell arrested

Two concerned citizens blocked the vehicle of 22-year-old U.S. Army Soldier Tommy Riddell on the side of 101st Airborne Division Pkwy Sunday afternoon just after 3 p.m., one pulling in front, and the other pulling behind him, as they had noticed his erratic driving behavior and decided to prevent him from returning to driving on the roadway after they contained him near the side of the road.

Tommy Lee Riddell was booked into the Montgomery County Jail, charged with DUI and possession of a handgun while under the influence. He is free on a $3,000 bond.
