Sabre, the K-9 partner of Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputy Kelly Potter returned home Friday after emergency surgery Thursday. Sabre appeared happy to be back to familiar surroundings and faces while he recovers.

45-year-old Ruth Ann Devito was booked on an outstanding warrant, charging her with harassment. The prosecutor, Lacy Outler, of Southside, says despite being told to not contact her multiple times, Devito has sent over 200 text messages which were annoying and alarming.
DUI: Man charged after rollover crash, open bottle of Maker’s Mark found in vehicle — Philip Thomas
32-year-old Philip Thomas faces multiple charges after first responders pulled him from his crashed vehicle just after 9 p.m. Saturday. He rolled the 2013 GMC pickup after striking a guard rail, according to authorities, who found an open 1.75 L bottle of Maker’s Mark with only 1/4th of the whisky still in the bottle. Thomas, who had urinated on himself, told police had only had “one drink” at a friend’s house earlier.
Dre’von Davis charged with over a pound of marijuana after failing to move over for emergency vehicle
Sheriff’s Deputy Josh Beck says he immediately noticed how badly 29-year-old Dre’von Davis’ hands were shaking as he conducted a traffic stop on his vehicle Wednesday night. A search of the white Buick would eventually reveal a backpack containing over a pound of marijuana, vape pens, and a handgun. Dre’von Davis is free on a $20,000 bond.
Woman punches deputy who pepper sprays her during intake — Zaria Metcalfe
23-year-old Zaria Metcalfe faces multiple charges after fleeing from officers during a suspected DUI traffic stop. Once she was in custody and transported to the Montgomery County Jail she refused to change out of her clothing and into a smock, prompting MCSO Officer Luketic to threaten to use chemical spray on her if she didn’t comply.
She continued to refuse and stated: “B*tch, Spray Me!” – and the officers obliged with a “short burst” of chemical spray to her face. As the officer felt she was complying, Zaria Metcalfe punched her in the face.
Man charged in assault of a child at Oak Plains Youth Academy — Damon Stewart, Sr. arrested
An investigator with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office says 56-year-old U.S. Army Veteran Damon Stewart, Sr., intentionally threw a 10-year-old child to the ground at Oak Plains Academy Youth Center for Trauma & Psychiatric Services while using a known improper restraint technique and began pushing on the juvenile’s chest as other staff members attempted to pull him off the child. Stewart is charged with assault and is free on a $5,000 bond.
Citizens block in suspected impaired driver until police arrive — Tommy Riddell arrested
Two concerned citizens blocked the vehicle of 22-year-old U.S. Army Soldier Tommy Riddell on the side of 101st Airborne Division Pkwy Sunday afternoon just after 3 p.m., one pulling in front, and the other pulling behind him, as they had noticed his erratic driving behavior and decided to prevent him from returning to driving on the roadway after they contained him near the side of the road.
Tommy Lee Riddell was booked into the Montgomery County Jail, charged with DUI and possession of a handgun while under the influence. He is free on a $3,000 bond.
