43-year-old Omar Stewart was allegedly seen assaulting Bethany Barrs at the Wyatt Johnson Toyota dealership on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard on June 25th. Barrs told police that when she was at the dealership shooting a video, Stewart approached her from behind and placed his hands on her lower back. Stewart then allegedly ran his hand up her back and into her hair. Once Barrs moved away from him, he pulled her back to him and attempted to kiss her. Barrs stated she pulled away from him again to avoid the kiss. However, Stewart was allegedly still able to kiss her on her neck. Barrs informed authorities that she had never met with Stewart before the incident and that the contact was unwanted. Omar Stewart was later taken into custody and charged with assault on July 8th.

Teneka Jones arrested after punching sleeping woman in the face
25-year-old Teneka Jones was seen assaulting Katelyn Richardson at her Market Street apartment on June 16th. Officers spoke with Richardson, who reported that Jones had entered the bedroom she was sleeping in as she slept. Richardson informed officers that while she was sleeping, Jones had gotten on top of her and punched her in the face several times. Once officers arrived, Jones was no longer there, so a warrant was issued for her arrest. Jones was later taken into custody for assault on July 3rd.
Tylan Chism punches caretaker after being confronted for lighting cigarette with stove
21-year-old Tylan Omari Chism had two altercations with a live-in caretaker, Mr. Long, at their Marthas Chapel Road group home on June 7th. Officers first responded to the residence around 7:26 a.m. Officers spoke with Mr. Long, who stated he and Chism argued over him lighting a cigarette inside the house, which is prohibited. Then, Long said, during the dispute, Chism shoved him, but when officers questioned Chism about it, he denied any physical contact. Around 10:57 a.m., the police were called back to the group home. When police arrived, Long advised them that another argument ensued after Chism used the stove to light a cigarette. Long stated Chism punched him in the face twice. Again, Chism denied the claims but had an inconsistent story about what happened. While speaking with officers, he admitted to pushing Long. Chism was taken into custody for two counts of assault.
David Key involved in shooting on Swift Lane
26-year-old David Key was involved in a shooting at Swift Lane, late April 23rd. During the investigation of the incident, it was revealed that Key and Michael Colgate II were involved in an argument with a gun. Surveillance footage showed Colgate toss a firearm to the ground. Key picked it up and pointed it at him. David Key was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault.
Justin Hickey kicks officer in stomach after being kicked out of Electric Cowboy
On April 21st, 31-year-old Justin Hickey was seen trespassing at the troubled Electric Cowboy near North Riverside Drive. When officers arrived, they spoke with Hickey, who was asked to leave. Hickey told police that he was not going to leave. Due to staff telling him to leave and Hickey refusing, he was taken into custody for criminal trespass. When officers attempted to put Hickey in the back of the vehicle, he anchored himself against the frame of the car, resisting officers. Officers then picked Hickey up by his arms and feet to place him in the back of the vehicle. During this scuffle, Hickey kicked an officer in the stomach three times. Hickey was charged with simple assault on a first responder, resisting arrest, and criminal trespass.
DUI: Destinee Estabrook nearly hits police car while swerving between lanes on Ashland City Road
On April 20th, 28-year-old Destinee Estabrook was spotted driving under the influence near Ashland City Road. Officers observed Estabrook’s vehicle swerving lanes before she hit an officer’s car. The officers turned around after being hit and approached Estabrook, who was seen stumbling out of her car. Estabrook admitted to the officers that she had been drinking that night. The officers immediately noticed her bloodshot eyes and the smell of alcohol on her breath and asked if she consented to a sobriety test, which she refused. Then, Estabrook was taken into custody for DUI and was brought to Sango ER Hospital. While in the parking lot of Sango ER Hospital, Estabrook slipped out of her cuffs and resisted when officers attempted to put them back on. She proceeded to kick officers while in the back of their vehicle and once more outside of Montgomery County Jail. Estabrook was charged with Simple assault against a first responder, DUI, resisting arrest, and driver’s implied consent to tests on April 21st. Â
Antwain Goodner punches man after he crashed into his car
On April 22nd, 27-year-old Antwain Goodner was seen assaulting someone after a vehicle accident. When officers arrived on the scene, they spoke with the victim of the crime. The victim stated that after the crash, Goodner had walked over to his vehicle and made threats about hurting him. The victim then stated that he walked over to Goodner’s vehicle and asked if Goodner’s family was okay. The victim then claims that Goodner became even more enraged and was in his face, yelling that he was going to hurt him. The victim then noted that Goodner proceeded to turn around and punch him in the face, causing bruises. The victim claimed he tried asking Goodner to stop but he did not. Proceeding this, the victim got into the fetal position to protect himself from Goodner before being struck by Goodner in the back. Officers spoke with Goodner, who admitted that he did punch the victim in the face. Goodner stated he did it out of anger. Officers took Goodner into custody for Assault and Driving on a suspended or revoked license.Â
Malcolm Chase punches nurse for stopping his suicide attempt at Tennova Hospital
On October 8th, 2022, 34-year-old Malcolm Chase was seen assaulting a nurse at Tennova. When officers arrived on the scene, they spoke with Kathrin Dzimian, a nurse employed by Tenova and was in charge of taking care of Chase. Dzimian stated she observed Chase on the camera attempting to choke himself with a blanket by placing it around his neck. She then said she asked Jeremy Sisco, a security guard at the hospital, for assistance, and together, they attempted to take the blanket from Chase. Sisco and Dzimian both stated that Chase began assaulting them. Both claimed that Chase punched Dzimian in the face, making her fall. Following this, Sisco attempted to get Dzimian from the room. This prompted Chase to begin punching Sisco in the chest and shoulder. Officers were already on the scene and quickly intervened to stop Chase and to observe the injuries sustained by both. Chase was taken into custody on April 18th, 2024, and charged with assault and simple assault against a first responder.
Gregory Hayes yells racial slurs, spits on officers after stealing at Marathon gas station
On April 13th, 60-year-old Gregory Hayes was caught stealing, assaulting a police officer, and yelling racial slurs at a Marathon gas station on North Riverside Drive. The clerk of the Marathon activated a silent alarm after Hayes stole a beer and snack cake. Officers encountered Hayes on North Riverside Drive walking with the stolen items in his backpack. Hayes began shouting racial slurs at the officers. Initially, Hayes clenched his fist and approached the officers but immediately backed away. Officers then noticed a hatchet by Hayes’s foot and put it on the hood of their car. Officers then told Hayes to turn around and place his hands behind his back to detain him, and Hayes proceeded to walk towards the hatchet.
Hayes was then transported to the Marathon to ask if they would like to press charges for shoplifting or trespassing. Hayes was trespassed and was taken out of cuffs. Hayes then immediately began flipping the cashier off and yelling racial slurs. Hayes also threatened to kick officers in the balls and spat on their patrol car. Hayes was then taken into custody again. While in the back of the police car, he spat on an officer out the window. Hayes was charged with disorderly conduct and simple assault against a first responder.
Rose Massie drunkenly assaults woman, tells police she doesn’t know where she is
65-year-old Rose Marie Massie had a scuffle with Renne Dotson on April 13th. Officers arrived and spoke with Dotson, who advised them that Massie approached and hit her in the face, leaving visible redness. While officers were talking with Dotson, they noticed Massie reeked of alcohol. Massie then admitted to drinking and was unaware of her location. Massie was deemed a danger to herself and others and was taken into custody for assault and public intoxication.
Tyesha White grabs woman by hair, breaks her front door during altercation
24-year-old Tyesha White was involved in an altercation with Canel Scott at her Shorehaven residence on March 9th. White arrived at Scott’s residence and was immediately asked to leave. White refused to do so and grabbed Scott by her hair. The two were then separated, and Scott’s son escorted her away from the residence. However, White returned to the residence and attempted to get back in. After failing to do so, White broke the front door, causing damage worth $300. Tyesha White was taken into custody and charged with assault and vandalism.
Deanna Hill pushes coworker during altercation at Yellowtail Robata Grill & Sushi
27-year-old Deanna Hill was involved in an altercation with her co-coworker, Alaisea Matavao, outside their job at Yellowtail Robata Grill & Sushi on November 24th, 2022. As Matavao was getting into a co-worker’s car to leave work, Hill approached her aggressively, yelling at her. Hill got in between the vehicle and Matavao to prevent her from leaving. When Matavao tried to get into the car, Hill pushed her. This caused Matavao to fear for her safety. Deanna Hill was taken into custody and charged with assault on March 3rd, 2024.
APSU Track-and-Field Athlete Jade-Ann Smith and friend assault woman at Castle Heights
19-year-old Jade-Ann Anastasia Smith, an APSU Track-and-Field athlete, was taken into custody for assault on March 1st. Smith and her friend Celeania Rollerson were involved in the assault of Ke’Shia Taylor at Austin Peay State University’s Castle Heights dorm on February 29th. Taylor was leaving her boyfriend’s room when Smith and Rollerson attacked her. Taylor’s injuries consisted of a cut on her right ankle and soreness on her right shoulder and forehead. Taylor’s friend and witness of the situation, Eniyah Wilson, stated that she saw both Smith and Rollerson kicking and punching Taylor. Smith and Rollerson were taken into custody and charged with assault.
APSU Track Athlete Celeania Rollerson and friend assault woman at Castle Heights
18-year-old Celeania Rollerson, an APSU Track athlete, was taken into custody for assault on March 1st. Rollerson and her friend Jade-Ann Smith were involved in the assault of Ke’Shia Taylor at Austin Peay State University’s Castle Heights dorm on February 29th. Michelle Buggs douses woman in bleach during altercation
54-year-old Michelle Buggs was involved in an altercation with Jaylene Callender at the Montgomery Commons apartments on February 17th. Callender explained to officers that she was walking to her apartment when Buggs approached her and started yelling in her face. Buggs followed up by dousing Callender with a bottle of Bleach. The assault caused skin irritations on Callender’s shoulder, back, and leg. Michelle Buggs was taken into custody and charged with assault.
Jacey Forsgren drunkenly throws cup of water at Smoove’s Grill security guard
24-year-old Jacey Forsgren was booked on an outstanding warrant from June 17th, 2023, when she threw a cup of water at a security guard at Smoove’s Grill on Fort Campbell Boulevard. Joseph Smith told police that he was asked to check on a female who had vomited in the bathroom. Mr. Smith found Forsgren in the parking lot. Smith was speaking with Forsgren when she became agitated and threw a cup of water at him. Forsgren admitted to being drunk and throwing the cup of water at Mr. Smith. Jacey Forsgren was taken into custody for assault on January 26th.
Lachelle Gatewood punches woman in mouth at Christmas party
26-year-old Lachelle Gatewood was booked for punching a woman in the face at a Christmas party on Snowball Lane on December 25th. Semone Wingfiled-Turrner told police that while at the party, she had gotten into an argument with Gatewood and was punched in her mouth. This resulted in a busted and swollen lip. Lachelle Gatewood was taken into custody and charged with assault on December 28th.
Anita Barnes assaults coworker at Dollar General
29-year-old Anita Nicole Barnes had an altercation with her co-worker, Michelle Thomas, at Dollar General on Trenton Road on November 17th, 2022. Thomas advised the officers that they argued, and Barnes walked to the parking lot. Thomas followed her, telling her she needed to leave, and then she pushed her and left. Barnes was taken into custody over a year later, on December 11th, 2023, for assault.
David Ralston sexually assaults friend, found shoeless behind Rookies Sports Bar
34-year-old David Ralston was involved in multiple altercations outside of Wise Guys Bar in the early hours of December 9th. Christine Lisle was asked by two males, one being Ralston and another being her friend, to take them to Wise Guys Bar from Billy’s Bar and Grill on Dover Road. Both men sat in the back seat, and Ralston sat behind her. He began to grab her breast multiple times while she was driving. Lisle and her friend told Ralston to stop several times, but he only stopped after she slapped him. Her friend told Ralston to get out of the car. When he confronted him outside of the car, Ralston struck him multiple times and took him to the ground. He attempted to defend himself shortly after, but Ralston ran into the woods. Witnesses saw these events and called the police, reporting that there were two individuals in the woods by Rookies Bar. Upon officers making contact with Ralston behind Rookies, officers observed that he was shoeless, rolling around on the ground, and yelling. While speaking with him, there was a strong odor of alcohol emitting from his person. The officers deemed Ralston to be a danger to himself and others. Ralston was taken into custody and charged with public intoxication, assault, and sexual battery.
Samaria Mims-Rolland assaults friend while driving
34-year-old Samaria Mims-Rolland was driving on Madison Street on October 23rd with her friend Samantha Farris. While driving, they got into a verbal altercation, and Mims-Rolland got physical. Mims-Rolland hit Farris multiple times, which caused Farris to sustain injuries to her nose, arms, and eye. Mims-Rolland was taken into custody and charged with assault.
