51-year-old Matthew Scott Comperry, who recently ran for Clarksville City Council, has been arrested and charged with the domestic assault of his wife, Lee Ann Comperry. After Tennova hospital requested a welfare check and she disclosed to police her husband had repeatedly struck her on the back of the head. Officers documented the bruising, including under her left eye, and took Comperry into custody.
Matthew Scott Comperry was booked into the Montgomery County Jail in the early hours of Sunday morning, charged with domestic assault and a contempt of court charge while in custody. His bond was set at $1,500 for the assault charge and $3,000 for the contempt. He bosted both and was released to his Willow Bend Drive address in Clarksville.
