29-year-old Luis Abarca was caught sending threatening messages to a 17-year-old boy on February 23rd. While officers were investigating an incident that occurred on January 22nd, there were several phone and text conversations between Abarca and the victim, which he stated placed him in fear and concern. Abarca has made multiple statements with the intent to intimidate or frighten family members so they could pressure the victim into terminating the investigation of the original incident. On February 13th, a family member of the victim received a phone call from Abarca stating that if the victim follows through with the charges and they go to court, the victim’s juvenile boyfriend and his sibling will be removed from the custody of their mother. Luis Abarca was taken into custody and charged with coercion of a witness.
Luis Antonio Zelayandia Abarca of Peabody Drive in Clarksville, TN, was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on February 23rd, charged with coercion of witness. A judicial commissioner set his bond at $10,000.
