25-year-old Fort Campbell Soldier Stephen Suarez was caught racing in a black Audi on Fort Campbell Boulevard on May 24th. Law enforcement observed the Audi alongside a red Ford Mustang racing underneath the overpass near Gate 2. Using a handheld LIDAR, the Audi was measured going 101 mph in a 45mph zone. Officers conducted a traffic stop and spoke with Suarez, who stated that he and the driver of the Mustang spoke before the incident, so when the Mustang driver “gunned it,” he said, “fuck it, and I took it.” Stephen Suarez was then taken into custody and charged with drag racing.
