DUI: Robert Jackson speeds down Highway 41 South in his Mustang

47-year-old county employee Robert Jackson was seen in a white Ford Mustang swerving and speeding down Highway 41 South on March 21st. Officers made contact and noticed a strong odor of alcohol as they approached Jackson. When he was asked for his registration, he opened his glove box and revealed a Smith & Wesson M&P 9mm pistol. Once officers told Jackson to step out of his vehicle, he admitted to drinking at Strawberry Alley Ale Works. Jackson consented to sobriety tests and performed poorly. After being informed about implied consent, he refused to provide a blood sample. Robert Jackson was taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence, possession of a handgun while under the influence, and implied consent.
