26-year-old Deangelo Palmer was jailed on July 23rd after brutally assaulting his wife at their home on White Birch Court. Jaquala Hayes told police on July 22nd Palmer became angry, grabbed a belt, looped it through the buckle, and strangled her with it. She described the room getting dark and having difficulty breathing until she was able to get her hands in between the belt and her neck to create room. Once her hands were between the belt, he swung her around the living room, then took the belt from around her neck and started whipping her with it. Police observed a bruise on her left arm that was visible from the day prior.
Deangelo Demetrius Palmer of White Burch Rd in Clarksville, TN, was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on July 23rd, charged with aggravated assault. A judicial commissioner set his bond at $15,000.
