Benjamin Dodd crosses multiple lanes and collides with Nissan Murano on Tiny Town Road

43-year-old Benjamin Dodd was involved in a car crash on Tiny Town Road on September 18th, 2022. Reportedly, Dodd crossed multiple lanes and collided head-on with a Nissan Murano. Officers made contact and noticed several signs of narcotic use as they spoke with Dodd. While speaking with officers, Dodd claimed that he was the passenger and that a woman named Shelby Hale was the driver.

This, however, was contradicted by witnesses shortly after. After being confronted with this, Dodd admitted that he was the driver during the incident. Dodd consented to a blood draw, which tested positive for cocaine. Through further investigation, officers found a pill that was identified as Oxycodone Hydrochloride. It was later revealed that Hale suffered a broken leg, and Kaelynn Baydo sustained a leg fracture and was airlifted to Vanderbilt for a severe head injury. Benjamin Dodd was taken into custody and charged with three counts of vehicular assault on April 28th.

DUI: Grace Standridge crashes into pole after two tallboy’s Four Lokos

21-year-old Grace Standridge was jailed last week for a vehicular crash with injuries on College Street. Standridge was driving her red Subaru Impreza and crashed into a pole in front of B&L Market. A witness stated that she saw Standridge run from the crash. Officers found her near the bridge between College Street and Wilma Rudolph Boulevard. She was transported to Tennova and read her Miranda Rights. She agreed to speak without an attorney present. Standridge told the officers that she and her friend Mr. Mekhi Bogertey had just left the Revel House and decided to turn into the parking lot of B&L Market.

She admitted to drinking to “tall boy Four Locos,” She smelled strongly of alcohol and had bloodshot eyes. She consented to a blood draw but then refused to let the nurses draw her blood. Standridge was driving on a learner’s permit and did not have a valid driver over the age of 21 with her. Mr. Bogertey was transported to Skyline Medical Center for his injuries which consisted of a broken leg or hip and lacerations to his head.
