48-year-old John Barrs is scheduled to appear in court later this month after he went on a road rage rampage last year on I-24. Troopers say in August of 2022, Barrs was driving a black GMC Denali in the left lane and attempted to merge due to an upcoming lane closure for construction when he sideswiped a black Mercedes Benz. Footage from a TDOT truck dash camera shows him impacting the other vehicle and driving alongside the Mercedes until he purposely struck the victim’s car a second time. He caused $12,000 in damage and was charged with felony vandalism and reckless endangerment. He is set to appear in court on April 27.
John Robert Barrs of Oak Grove, KY, was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on February 19th, charged with vandalism and reckless endangerment. A judicial commissioner set his bond at $50,000.
