24-year-old Makhere Benson was jailed on August 20th when police responded to Wilma Rudolph Boulevard after speaking with Alexie Brodie, who said while out eating dinner, they got into an argument. Ms. Brodie asked him to leave the restaurant, but Benson refused to leave. Christopher Poitevint, the manager of Old Chicago, stated that he observed Mr. Benson grab Ms. Brodie by her neck. When officers arrived on the scene, both parties were outside of the restaurant arguing. Officers observed Ms. Brodie yell “stop” toward Mr. Benson and witnessed him push and hit her.
Makhere Naseer Benson of Lancaster Road in Clarksville, TN, was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on August 20th, charged with domestic assault. He is free on a $1,000 bond.
