Kyjuan Schambers jailed after hit-and-run crash

21-year-old Kyjuan Schambers was the driver responsible for multiple injuries in a three-vehicle accident on Purple Heart Pkwy. on October 3rd. Officers witnessed a white Kia Sedan speeding down 101st Airborne Division Pkwy. shortly before responding to a wreck involving the same vehicle. Three cars were damaged, and as officers arrived, they observed two Glock handguns and blue pills, later identified as Oxycodone, in plain view of the unoccupied Kia Sedan. Officers determined the Kia Sedan to be the at-fault vehicle as witnesses stated that the Kia was traveling at a high speed before rear-ending a car, causing them to hit the car in front of them.

A passenger and a driver were transported to Tennova for medical attention and were able to identify Schambers as the driver of the Kia. Officers confirmed that the Kia was registered to Schambers and that his license was “eligible for reissue.” Schambers was arrested on October 5th for reckless endangerment, unlawful carrying of a weapon, simple possession, leaving the scene, and driving without a license.
