Soldier Brandon Thomas crashes motorcycle after attempting to flee police

On April 9th, 23-year-old Soldier Brandon Thomas was involved in a single-vehicle accident after fleeing police on Dover Road. When officers noticed Thomas’s motorcycle going 67 mph in a 45 mph zone, they initiated a traffic stop. Officers saw a female occupant on the back of the motorcycle when it sped up and passed officers at an increased speed of 70 mph. A traffic stop was attempted, but the motorcycle failed to yield. Officers did not chase after Thomas due to wet road conditions. Moments later, another officer heard the sound of a vehicle crash at an intersection near Dover Road and Power Street. Officers confirmed the motorcycle involved as the vehicle that had fled police moments earlier. The female passenger sustained road rash injuries due to the crash. Thomas was taken into custody for failure to exercise due care, speeding, reckless endangerment, and evading arrest.
