Just after 9 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to Dover Road regarding a report of a Buick swerving all over the roadway. Officer Hyatt located the vehicle, driven by 27-year-old Brendan Clark Offutt, which was now on Providence Blvd swerving from side to side. During the subsequent traffic stop, Offutt had extremely slurred speech, so much that most of his words could not be understood. He performed poorly on field sobriety tests. Inside the car, officers located a rolled-up paper made into a straw with white powder residue inside it and a “human booger” attached to one end.
Brendan Clark Offutt of Petty Street in Dover, TN, was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on August 14th, charged with unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, violating the implied consent law, and driving under the influence (DUI). A judicial commissioner set his bond at $4,500, and Dennis Stanford was appointed to be his attorney.
