Fort Campbell soldier Austin Pristavec charged with DUI; case of Busch light in truck

24-year-old Austin Pristavec, a Fort Campbell Soldier, was jailed on July 16th after police observed him swerving and operating a cell phone on Fort Campbell Boulevard. When police pulled him over, they smelled alcohol coming from the vehicle, and Austin admitted to drinking earlier that evening. He agreed to sobriety testing and performed poorly. The search of his vehicle yielded a case of Busch Light on the floorboard along with a loaded Smith & Wesson Springfield 9mm. Austin blew a .093% BAC on a breathalyzer. He has no prior DUI history.

Austin Wayne Pristavec of Hadley Drive in Clarksville, TN, was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on July 16th, charged with possession of a handgun while under the influence, driving under the influence, prohibited use of wireless telecommunication devices or stand-alone electronic devices while operating a motor vehicle. A judicial commissioner set his bond at $4,000.
