21-year-old Fort Campbell Soldier Cooper Sheffer was booked into the Montgomery County Jail this week after his firearm was discharged from inside his apartment, causing a bullet to pass through the wall of his apartment and into his neighbor’s residence, which was occupied. A female victim in the neighboring apartment was in the living room at the time of the gunshot, which came through the wall approximately 8-10 inches from where she was sitting. Sheffer says he “accidentally bumped the trigger” while cleaning the firearm.
Cooper Graham Sheffer, of Lexington Drive in Clarksville, was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on June 5th, charged with felony reckless endangerment. He is free on a $5,000 bond.
