Soldier Garfield Martin accidentally shoots neighbor’s apartment

27-year-old US Army Soldier Garfield Martin was involved in a shooting at Tiny Town Road on November 24th. Law enforcement received calls that gunshots went off and entered the Q building, between apartments 3 & 4. Martin, after accidentally firing the shots, went and checked on the people who lived inside Q3, and officers checked on the people in Q4. When Martin engaged with the officer, he told them that he was trying to take the gun away from his wife, who was trying to put the handgun on safe. When he took the gun from her, it discharged and shot toward the Q building. Martin was taken into custody and charged with reckless endangerment.

Ayriana Swafford charged after stealing over $100 worth of merchandise from Dillard’s

18-year-old Ayriana Nikole Swafford was caught stealing at Dillard’s on Wilma Rudolph Blvd on November 14th. Swafford was seen on camera concealing items on her person and in a bag she was carrying. The in-store manager, Raymond Hicks, was told about Swafford, and he stopped her before she was able to leave the store. The value of the items stolen was around $131. Swafford was taken into custody and charged with theft of property.

Diara Mickens scratches, punches brother during argument

26-year-old Diara Kaurice Mickens was involved in a domestic disturbance with her brother, Clifford Mickens, on Cobalt Drive in the early hours of November 23rd. Officers responded to reports regarding a suspicious person on I-24 westbound, arrived, and spoke with Clifford, who advised that he verbally argued with his sister. Then, he stated that she pushed him, causing him to fall over, so he attempted to leave. However, Clifford returned to retrieve his belongings. This is when she scratched and punched his face. Clifford stated he bit her in self-defense while she attacked him. He told officers he had been looking for a place to stay since the incident. Officers observed Clifford having physical signs of assault. Diara Mickens was taken into custody for domestic assault.

Diamond Tankard drags boyfriend out of Lyft during dispute

20-year-old Diamond Lanae Tankard was involved in a domestic dispute with her boyfriend, Davone Starks, in the backseat of a Lyft at Alexander Boulevard on November 23rd. Tankard advised officers that she went out to the Lyft so Starks could not leave with her things. Tankard mentioned shoving and pushing between the two, but she was vague with the information. Starks stated he packed up his belongings and began loading them into the Lyft that Tankard called for him when she tried to prevent him from leaving, attempting to pull him from the vehicle. Tankard repeatedly kept opening the door, saying that he could not leave. The Lyft driver told officers that he arrived to pick up Starks, and when Starks began to load his belongings, Tankard ran out, grabbed a backpack, and ran back inside before coming back outside, yelling at him, pulling his hair, and hitting him to prevent him from leaving. Officers observed minor injuries that Starks sustained. Tankard was taken into custody for domestic assault.

31-year-old Alysha Lynnette Lewis was unresponsive in the McDonald’s drive-thru lane, holding it up as customers honked their horns at her in the early hours of November 23rd. Officers observed her in a white SUV as she stared at him with a “dumbfounded” look, with her eyes struggling to stay open. She rolled down the window when officers asked her to and began to slur her words as she responded to them. Officers had her find a parking spot, step out of the vehicle, and noticed that she was visibly intoxicated. Lewis did not consent to sobriety tests, began speaking incoherently, asking if the officers could find someone who spoke English even though the ones that were present spoke English, and was read implied consent. She was taken into custody for driving under the influence.

29-year-old Arpita Sarkar drove into a ditch and struck a light pole at Orleans Drive on November 22nd. Officers approached the driver’s side and observed Sarkar to be visibly intoxicated. She consented to sobriety tests, performed poorly, and was read implied consent. Officers secured a search warrant for a blood sample and placed her into custody for driving under the influence, implied consent, and driver’s failure to exercise due care.

28-year-old Kaylan Cidron Caudle, an employee of Hankook, was speeding and swerving in his Dodge Charger on Highway 374 on November 22nd. Officers observed this, conducted a traffic stop, and noticed Caudle was visibly intoxicated. Caudle was administered sobriety tests, performed poorly, and provided a breath sample, resulting in 0.092 BAC%. He was unable to provide proof of valid insurance and was taken into custody for reckless driving, driving under the influence, and failing to provide proof of insurance.

Melissa Hunsinger charged after assaulting her son-in-law

54-year-old Melissa Hunsinger was involved in a domestic altercation with her son-in-law, Gage Gower, on November 21 at Harold Drive. The conflict began with them arguing about Gower not helping with household chores. The argument started to escalate until Hunsinger eventually pushed Gower. This elicited him to push her toward the door and tell her to leave, but she told the authorities that he got into her face and yelled at her to the point where his spit was landing on her face. Taylor Greenwell caught with stolen vehicle

19-year-old Taylor Renee Greenwell was stopped out in Logan County, KY, in sole possession of Jaden Wilson’s stolen Honda Civic on the afternoon of November 16th. Wilson talked to officers and advised them he parked his car in his driveway at Crabapple Court on the night of November 15th. Still, when he woke up, it was missing, so they entered it into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) as stolen. The NCIC advised officers that the vehicle was found when Greenwell had been arrested regarding an outstanding warrant. A warrant was issued for Greenwell, and she was taken into custody for the theft of a motor vehicle on November 21st.

Darius Moore jailed after attacking his ex-girlfriend at a motel on Wilma Rudolph

33-year-old Darius Lavonte Moore was involved in a domestic disturbance with his ex-girlfriend, Sharon Priess, at a motel on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard in the early hours of October 5th. Priess spoke with officers as they arrived and advised them that she was walking towards her friend’s motel room when Moore attacked her, causing a bloody nose and busted lip. Moore fled the scene in a gold Chevrolet Tahoe before officers arrived, but he was served a warrant and arrested for domestic assault on November 21st.

31-year-old Amayrani Estefania Hughes, employee at Boba Shop, was involved in a single-car accident on Dunlop Lane in the night hours of November 20th. Dexter Stephen jailed for $14,000 in home improvement fraud

57-year-old Dexter Stephen and his coworkers were caught scamming one of their customers on November 20. His customer, Mr.Harworth, signed a contract with them for $26,000 to repair his house on Denny Road that was damaged in a fire. It was supposed to be done on July 31, but that day came, and there was little to no progress. Later on, Harworth, via his cameras, was able to catch on that Stephen and his crew were showing up for a couple of hours and then leaving or not showing up at all. Harthworth later texted Stephen that he wanted all the building materials they bought and the invoices for them. Stephen acknowledged the text that Harworth sent but refused to return any future messages that he sent. Harworth told law enforcement that Stephen only did about $12,000 worth of work and that Stephen owed him another $14,000. Stephen was taken into custody and charged with home improvement fraud.

Raymond Matthews hits son because he was angry

35-year-old Raymond Matthews was involved in an altercation with his child at Guinevere Court on November 17. Matthews’s son said his father was going around the house to damage items because he was angry. The child said he was trying to stop Matthews before he broke dishes, but Matthews struck him across the face and scratched him. Matthews later told law enforcement that he did hit his son but claimed that he did it in self-defense. Law enforcement didn’t observe any visible injuries but did say that the house seemed like it was ransacked. Matthews was taken into custody and charged with child abuse and neglect.

26-year-old E-3 Soldier Alex Gonzalez was involved in a domestic altercation with his wife, Giovanna Pureyra, at the Eagle Crest apartment complex on Jack Miller Boulevard on November 18. The dispute started when Pureyra caught Gonzalez looking through her phone. When she asked for her phone back, he pushed her and went to the bathroom with her phone. Pureyra started knocking on the door, and Gonzalez opened the door and pushed her again, causing her to fall to the ground. Pureyra got up, grabbed her dog, and ran to the neighbor’s apartment for help. She told law enforcement that her back hurt, and officers observed red marks on her chest. Gonzalez was taken into custody and charged with domestic assault.

64-year-old Keith Ullom was involved in a domestic altercation with his wife, Phuong Ullom, on November 18 on Marshall Drive. Keith came home after a long night of drinking and found his wife sleeping in a separate bedroom. He then removed all of his clothing, kicked open the door, and climbed on top of her, pinning her, demanding that she should have sex with him. Phuong was forced to push him off of her after telling him multiple times that she didn’t want to have sex. Once she got him off of her, she called the police. While being questioned by the police, Keith told them that nothing happened and he just went to sleep. Ullom was taken into custody and charged with domestic assault.

Danshawn Gatlin caught with marijuana at DUI checkpoint

20-year-old Danshawn Gatlin was stopped at a DUI checkpoint on Tiny Town Road with his friend Christopher Bonner on November 18th. During the stop, officers noticed the smell of marijuana coming from the car. Bonner was identified as the driver. He told officers that he smoked prior to driving but didn’t have anything on him. This prompted officers to conduct a search on both Bonner and Gatlin, and they found a baggie containing marijuana in Gatlin’s pocket. Officers also found that Gatlin had a local warrant for his arrest for a traffic offense. Gatlin was taken into custody and charged with simple possession/casual exchange.

Jonathan Rosado-Mendez hides in bathroom after assaulting his wife

27-year-old Jonathan Rosado-Mendez was talking to his wife, Marissa Rosado, at their home on Kathleen Court on November 19th when he became combative. Jonathan was inside the master bathroom when Marissa told him to get out so she could get ready for work. This enraged Jonathan, so he followed Marissa once she had conceded the master bathroom and moved to a different bathroom. He began to grab her by her arm and hair, swinging her around the hallway, causing red markings on her arms. Jonathan also attempted to push her down the flight of stairs, yelling at her to get out of his house.

Marissa was able to separate herself from Jonathan to prepare for work, but Jonathan again followed her, grabbed her by her shirt and hair, and threw her all over the room. Marissa found a way to get away from him again and told Jonathan that she was calling the police. Jonathan locked himself in the master bedroom until authorities arrived to assist. Rosado-Mendez was taken into custody and charged with domestic violence.
