Stacy Torian-Batts jailed after drunkenly pulling on car doors in Walmart parking lot with 5-year-old child

36-year-old Stacy Torian-Batts was seen publicly intoxicated at Walmart on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard on August 3rd. The store employees reported seeing a woman and a child walking through the parking lot. They added that the woman was pulling on random car door handles. When officers arrived on the scene, they made contact with Batts and her five-year-old daughter. Officers observed Batts pulling on the handles of a vehicle, and when asked what she was doing, Batts stated that she was looking for her keys.

While speaking with her, Batts had a strong smell of alcohol on her, as well as slurred speech and difficulty maintaining balance. After the Department of Child Services had arrived on the scene, they spoke with the child. The child stated that her mother, Batts, had shoplifted four single shots of moonshine from Ebenezer’s Liquors & Wine and consumed them on the walk to Walmart. DCS took the child, and Batts was then taken into custody for child abuse, simple possession, and public intoxication on August 4th.

Kristen Purnell charged after 4 year old child is found outside in the rain

26-year-old Kristen Purnell was caught neglecting her child at the Alto Luxury Townhomes on April 11th. Law enforcement received a call that a small child was outside in the rain with no adult present. Officers contacted the caller in the front office with the child when they arrived. The caller provided officers with video footage of the child attempting to climb the fence surrounding the complex’s pool. Officers were able to locate the child’s apartment due to a similar incident that occurred the previous week, on April 7th. Officers went to the child’s apartment, where they found that the front door was wide open. After several attempts to contact Purnell, she came to the door. Purnell told officers that she had worked the night shift and had been asleep. Purnell’s child is four years old. Kristen Purnell was taken into custody and charged with child neglect.

Raymond Matthews hits son because he was angry

35-year-old Raymond Matthews was involved in an altercation with his child at Guinevere Court on November 17. Matthews’s son said his father was going around the house to damage items because he was angry. The child said he was trying to stop Matthews before he broke dishes, but Matthews struck him across the face and scratched him. Matthews later told law enforcement that he did hit his son but claimed that he did it in self-defense. Law enforcement didn’t observe any visible injuries but did say that the house seemed like it was ransacked. Matthews was taken into custody and charged with child abuse and neglect.

Naser Abu Dayeh jailed after punching pregnant wife & assaulting his children

30-year-old Taco Bell employee Naser Abu Dayeh was jailed on July 24th after reported child abuse. When police arrived, they made contact with Naser and his wife, Sara Hindieh, at their home on Harrison Way. Sara stated that she had her daughter called dispatch because she was fearful after her husband threatened to kill her and all of the children.

Sara stated that on July 17th, she and her husband had a disagreement which led to him punching her in the stomach, and she is thirteen weeks pregnant. There was also an incident in their vehicle where he punched her in the leg and swerved the steering wheel, stating he “would kill everyone.” There were four minor children involved. The first Minor interviewed was RB, who stated two weeks ago, his dad picked him up by the neck with both hands until he was unable to breathe with notable bruising to his neck. RB went on to explain that just that day, his father punched him in the jaw twice and in his stomach once. After the punches, he picked him up off the ground by his ears.

Police then spoke with SB, who stated that day, her father kicked her in her leg and buttock. Police also observed visible bruising to her left arm where she was grabbed. AB was the third minor to be interviewed who stated just that day, his father squeezed both sides of his neck from behind, punched him in the face, and kicked him in the leg.

The final minor child was MA, who is approximately one year old. The children told police that they witnessed their father smack and punch the baby in the face multiple times on a daily basis. They further stated that their father grabbed MA by both arms and threw her onto a bed, where she landed on her head. All the children’s statements about what was taking place in the household were corroborated by their physical injuries. The children all had multiple bruises and abrasions in the areas of the alleged assaults.

Couple leaves toddler in apartment while they go to gym — William Esquerra & Nikola Eichlerova

A three-year-old’s 25-year-old father, soldier William Esquerra, & 24-year-old stepmother, Nikola Eichlerova, told police they left the child asleep in their Independence Place apartment just after 3 p.m. Thursday and went to the complex’s gym. As they worked out, the child woke up and exited the third-floor apartment, and made his way to the basketball court, where he was noticed by other juveniles who alerted an employee of the complex. The toddler was able to lead the employee back to his apartment, and the parents were contacted via phone. Security video shows them entering the gym at 3:30 p.m. and staying until they receive the call at 3:54 p.m. The child is currently staying with his grandmother in Franklin, TN.

Oshay Randall Coffee kicks 6-year-old niece in stomach after jerking her to the ground

27-year-old O’Shay Randall Coffee is charged with felony child abuse and resisting arrest after police say he assaulted his six-year-old niece on the property of Hazelwood Elementary School on December 6th. School security cameras captured him jerking the child to the ground and kicking her in the stomach as he walked her to the school. As officers were taking him into custody, Coffee began to pull away from officers and was taken to the ground by multiple officers.

Kenyatta Davis beat juvenile bloody at Oak Plains Academy & bragged about it in texts

27-year-old Kenyatta Noele Davis is free on a $5,000 bond after investigators found she abused a 13-year-old female under her supervision at Oak Plains Youth Academy. During an altercation with the youth, she placed her legs around the juvenile’s neck and punched her in the face until she was bleeding. She then texted her co-workers in a group chat with a photo of the young girl’s leg with blood on it and the text: “I f***** [youth’s name] a** up.. had her leaking…”

Cheyenne Maddox jailed on new Indictments related to child’s death

Earlier today, detectives with the Clarksville Police Departments Special Operations Unit arrested 32-year-old Cheyenne Dawn Maddox for Aggravated Child Abuse/ Neglect/ Endangerment of a child in relation to the death of 13-year-old Kadaris Maddox.

On July 6, 2022, at approximately 1:10 pm, Clarksville Police Department officers responded to a residence on Virginia Terrace where Kadaris Maddox was pronounced deceased following the arrival of first responders. Based on the investigation, the lead investigator, Detective Bryan Hughes, presented evidence to the August session of the Montgomery County Grand Jury, and an indictment was issued for Cheyenne Maddox. She was taken into custody today and booked into the Montgomery County Jail on a $75,000 bond.

32-year-old Cheyenne Maddox is jailed in lieu of a $10,000 bond, charged with five counts of child abuse and neglect after Clarksville Police responded to a deceased child call at her Virginia Terrace home on July 6th and found the home in such disarray that it was unsafe for human habitation, including tipped over dressers and trash and other debris covering the floor to where it could not be seen or safely walked on.

Gregory Dejarnett charged after striking and bruising daughter with belt & shoe

31-year-old Gregory Deon Dejarnett admits to striking his five-year-old daughter on the buttocks so hard with a belt and a shoe that it left severe bruising on her buttocks and bruising on her arm. Police say he also left bruises when he pulled her by the arm and grabbed her hair. The child victim was seen by medical professionals who reported the bruises were consistent with abuse and took significant force to inflict. Dejarnett admitted to leaving bruises on his daughter one other time during an interview.

Brittany Martin charged after failing to report “sexual abuse incident” between her 12 & 10 year-old children

Clarksville Police say 37-year-old Brittany Jacqueline Martin personally witnessed a “sexual abuse incident” that occurred in her home between her 12-year-old son and her 10-year-old daughter on May 21st and did not report this incident to authorities. The following day, the 12-year-old boy also ran away, which she also didn’t report. When officers came to take her into custody for the two child abuse and neglect warrants, she also resisted arrest.

VIDEO: 41-year-old Tonette Fletcher faces two counts of child abuse/neglect and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a child after authorities say she drove her two juvenile daughters to confront two other female juveniles. As the pairs of children were fighting each other, she punched the two opposing children with her fists. She then went live on social media, boasting about the assault and how she punched the children, and she and her daughters were going to repeat the assault again the next day.

Laranda Williams charged with child abuse of 13-year-old nephew after she orderd ‘punishment’ be carried out

In November of 2021, a 13-year-old child reported to his school he was beaten the previous night by his cousin Austin, and his Aunt, 48-year-old Laranda Williams. Deputies responded and the boy disclosed he was punched with a closed fist, scratched, hit with books, and thrown into walls. Severe injures were documented and included a golf-ball-size knot on his head, and bruises on his arms and neck. The child was in the custody and control of Laranda Willaims at the time of the abuse, which she reportedly directed.

Investigators spoke with Laranda Williams on December 16th, at which time she stated the child had a phone he was not allowed to use, and she had called her son, Austin Williams, to come and spank the child. She claims the child was “flopping around” during the spanking with a belt, which caused the injuries. None of the child’s injuries matched the stories given by the family. Arrest warrants were issued in March, and the involved parties were taken into custody this past week.

Serial shoplifter arrested again — Nefertiti Jones charged in $111 Walmart theft

28-year-old Nefertiti Jones was jailed on January 28th on an outstanding warrant from a January 2nd shoplifting incident at the Madison Street Walmart. Court records allege she concealed $111.09 in merchandise and walked past all points of sale to leave the building. Walmart is seeking restitution. She was taken into custody on this charge as police served an outstanding violation of probation warrant which was drug-related on the same day.
