Officers arrived and noticed a strong odor of alcohol as they approached Woods, who admitted to consuming 6 “tall boys” before driving. They conducted a probable cause search of his vehicle and located several opened containers on the passenger side floorboard. Woods consented to sobriety tests, performed poorly, and then, after being informed about implied consent, agreed to provide a blood sample. DUI: Travis Elsperman tells police he had 6-7 drinks before driving
22-year-old Travis Elsperman was seen in the parking lot of the Electric Cowboy asleep in the driver’s seat of his car on February 16th. Once officers made contact with Elsperman, he told them he had six to seven beers. An officer noted that Elsperman smelt like an alcoholic beverage and showed clear signs of intoxication. Elsperman stated that he started falling asleep once he tried to drive out of the parking lot, so he stopped. He was shortly asked to perform sobriety tests and executed them poorly. Travis Elsperman was taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence. At booking, he blew a .105% BAC on a breathalyzer.
DUI: Brianna Ortiz swerves on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard after drinking 5 margaritas
22-year-old Brianna Ortiz was seen swerving in a red Infinity Sedan with no lights at Wilma Rodolph Boulevard on February 12th. Upon contact with Ortiz, officers noted a strong smell of alcohol coming from her person, as well as other signs of intoxication. Ortiz was asked and agreed to perform sobriety tests but executed poorly. Ortiz openly admitted that she had recently left “El Brasero” after having five margaritas. Brianna Ortiz was taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence.
DUI: Jake Heidt swerves between lanes on Fort Campbell Boulevard
32-year-old Jake Heidt was seen in a grey Dodge Truck swerving between lanes on Fort Campbell Boulevard on February 10th. Once officers made contact with Heidt, they noted the odor of an alcoholic beverage. Heidt exhibited clear signs of intoxication, such as bloodshot eyes. Heidt consented to perform field sobriety tests but performed poorly. Jake Heidt was taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence.
DUI: Soldier Josef Hassanin drinks beer before nearly crashing into police car
21-year-old Soldier Josef Lahib Hassanin nearly struck a patrol car while turning on Tiny Town Road in the early hours of February 10th. Officers observed this and then conducted a traffic stop at the Tiny Town RV Park. Officers approached the driver’s side and noticed an empty beer on the passenger floorboard. Hassanin consented to sobriety tests and performed poorly. Hassanin then agreed to provide a breath sample, which resulted in 0.173 BAC%. Hassanin was taken into custody for an open container violation and driving under the influence.
DUI: Terence Hilton has 3 “vodka drinks” before falling asleep on Ted Crozier Boulevard
27-year-old Terence Hilton was found asleep in his black Lincoln sedan in the middle of the roadway at the intersection of Dunlop Lane and Ted Crozier Boulevard on February 6th. Officers woke Hilton and instructed him to exit the vehicle. Hilton displayed clear signs of being intoxicated. Hilton then consented to Sobriety tests, which he performed poorly on. During a search of Hilton’s car, officers found an Angry Orchard Hard Cider bottle under the driver’s seat and some empty THC packaging. During a post-Miranda Warning, Hilton stated he had consumed 3 “vodka drinks” 45 minutes before officers found him. Terence Hilton was taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence.
DUI: Jeffrey Waller found unconscious in vehicle on I-24
45-year-old Jeffrey Waller was jailed on February 7th after officers observed him parked on the right shoulder of I-24. When officers arrived, they noticed the driver and passenger slumped over sleeping. Officers knocked and banged on the window to wake them, but neither of them would wake up. Officers called for another unit and an ambulance and finally got into the vehicle. The passenger woke up once the police got inside the vehicle. Officers had to administer Narcan and sternum rubs until the driver finally awoke. Waller was identified as the driver. Waller was slurring his speech and seemed very incoherent. Waller nearly fell out of the vehicle while exiting and could not hold himself up. Waller was drooling as officers helped him walk to the patrol vehicle. Waller was taken into custody and was transported to Tennova for a suspected overdose. Waller was charged with DUI on February 7th.
DUI: Chance Decker caught driving his Dodge Ram while smoking marijuana
28-year-old Chance Decker was jailed on the night of December 31st, 2023, for driving recklessly on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard and 101st Airborne Division. Officers pulled over a silver Dodge Ram pickup truck for driving without lights on. Officers could smell alcohol coming from the vehicle as they approached it. Decker consented to perform field sobriety tests, which he did poorly on. In Decker’s car, officers found a cigarette with a green leafy substance inside. The substance field tested positive for THC/Marijuana. Decker was then read implied consent and refused to provide a blood sample. A search warrant was secured, and officers acquired a blood sample from Decker. Decker was placed into custody and charged with DUI.
DUI: Bradley Huff has two Jack and Cokes at Oneal’s Bar and Grill before crashing car
22-year-old Bradley Huff was involved in a car crash at the intersection of Madison Street and Richview Road on December 29th, 2023. Huff was driving and rear-ended a vehicle at the intersection. When officers made contact with him, Huff had trouble explaining the accident and finding his registration. While the interview was underway, officers could smell the odor of alcohol on his breath. Huff stated that he was heading home from ONeal’s Bar and Grill, where he consumed two “Jack and Cokes.” Huff was then asked to perform some field sobriety tests, which he executed poorly. Bradley Huff was taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence and due care.
John Farrell drives drunk with a Glock 19
21-year-old John Farrell was seen driving between both lanes on Fort Campbell Boulevard late February 8th. After officers initiated a traffic stop, they smelt the odor of an intoxicating beverage as well as signs of intoxication. Farrell consented to Standardized Field sobriety tests but performed poorly. A search through Farrell’s car yielded a Glock 19 handgun. John Farrell was taken into custody and charged with possession of a handgun while under the influence and driving under the influence.
Gabrielle Mejia tells police she’s a “3” on the drunk scale
22-year-old Gabrielle Mejia was seen in a grey Subaru weaving in and out of her lane on Fort Campbell Boulevard late February 9th. Officers conducted a traffic stop and made contact with Mejia, who had a strong smell of an intoxicating beverage and appeared inebriated. Mejia had trouble locating and handing over her documents and admitted to consuming alcoholic beverages. When asked how drunk she was on a scale of 1-10, she replied “3”, leading to Mejia agreeing to perform field sobriety tests, but she performed poorly. Gabrielle Mejia was taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence.
DUI: Shane Castillo swerves into oncoming traffic, tells police “Just arrest me”
39-year-old Shane Castillo, an employee of Ajax Distributing Company, was seen in his silver Nissan Titan swerving toward oncoming traffic at Dover Road on February 4th. Officers stopped Castillo because Castillo nearly hit an officer’s patrol car when he swerved toward oncoming traffic. When officers made contact with Castillo, they noted that Castillo reeked of alcohol. Initially, Castillo was ready to perform some field sobriety tests, but when Castillo exited his vehicle, he stumbled several times. Once officers began the instruction phase of a test, Castillo refused to attempt the test and stated, “Just arrest me.” Shane Castillo was taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence.
DUI: David Huynh drives through McGregor Park after drinking 2 beers at Electric Cowboy
22-year-old David Huynh was jailed on February 4th when officers observed a dark-colored vehicle driving through the grass into McGregor Park. The car then pulled out in front of officers who were stationary in the Electric Cowboy parking lot. Officers performed a traffic stop on the vehicle at North Riverside Drive/North 2nd Street. Officers asked Huynh how many drinks he had, and Huynh advised officers that he had two beers at the troubled Electric Cowboy before driving. Huynh then performed poorly on sobriety tests and was taken into custody.
DUI: Joshua Smith caught driving drunk after running stop sign
45-year-old Joshua Aaron Smith failed to stop for a stop sign at the Queens Bluff Way and Ashland City Road intersection in the early hours of January 28th. Officers observed this, conducted a traffic stop, and observed Smith to be visibly intoxicated as they approached the driver’s side. He admitted to drinking, consented to sobriety tests, and performed poorly. They informed him of implied consent, and he agreed to provide a blood sample. Smith was taken into custody for driving under the influence and a stop sign violation.

DUI: Lindsey Crawford crashes on Highway 76, tells police she “might have been going the wrong way.”
37-year-old Lindsey Crawford was seen driving in the opposite lane of Highway 76 on January 10th. When officers made contact with Crawford, they observed that she was unsteady on her feet and slurring her words. Crawford stated that she “might have been going the wrong way.” which witnesses corroborated. Crawford was traveling south in northbound lanes on Highway 76, leading to an inevitable crash. Officers requested Crawford to perform some field sobriety tests, which she consented to. Lindsey Crawford performed poorly on sobriety tests, was taken into custody, and was charged with driving under the influence.
DUI: Jeremy Harvey drinks vodka before driving car into ditch on Hot Shot Drive
49-year-old Jeremy Todd Harvey drove his white Chevy SUV into a mailbox at a Hot Shot Drive residence on January 26th. The complainant stated Harvey ran his car into a ditch and hit a mailbox before pulling into a driveway a couple of houses down from the incident. Officers arrived and noticed Harvey in the driver’s seat of a white Chevy SUV, backing into his garage, matching the description. Harvey admitted to officers that he had been driving and backed into a ditch. Then, Harvey told them he had drunk Vodka earlier in the day before consenting to sobriety tests, which he performed poorly on. Officers observed him to be visibly intoxicated, and he was taken into custody for driving under the influence.
Marcus McKinney jailed after crashing into a parked car
39-year-old Marcus McKinney was involved in a car crash at Drayton Drive on January 26th. Law enforcement received a report that a black truck struck a parked car and drove away. When officers arrived at the mentioned location, they observed the black truck still driving around the neighborhood with noticeable damage. Officers made contact with McKinney, who showed clear signs of intoxication and admitted to consuming alcohol. When he was asked to perform field sobriety tests, he refused. He also declined to provide a blood and a breath sample, so a warrant was secured. When officers attempted to execute the warrant for the blood sample at Sango ER, medical staff advised that they would not take a sample if McKinney had to be held down due to safety. Officers then explained to McKinney that if he refused to comply, he would be tampering with evidence and would be charged accordingly. Marcus McKinney was taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence, due care, and implied consent.
Chriswana Thibodeaux drives drunk into a ditch on Rollow Lane
33-year-old Chriswana Thibodeaux was involved in a vehicle crash at Rollow Lane on January 25th. While traveling on Rollow Lane, Thibodeaux went off the right side of the road, struck a culvert, and then continued into a ditch on the left side. When law enforcement arrived and made contact with Thibodeaux, she showed clear signs of intoxication and admitted to consuming alcohol. Thibodeaux consented to field sobriety testing, but she performed poorly. Chriswana Thibodeaux was taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence.
DUI: Elenor Barretta found passed out in car after drinking 5 beers
26-year-old Elenor Barretta was seen passed out in a Black Kia Sedan at Tracy Lane on January 15th. Once officers were able to wake her, she opened the door and introduced herself. As she introduced herself, officers recognized the scent of alcohol that was on her breath. Officers then observed five empty beer cans in the passenger seat. Barretta was then asked if she had drunk anything that could impair her driving, and she said no. Officers requested Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, Barretta consented and performed poorly on them. When officers searched Barretta’s car, they found a green leaf substance that tested positive for THC. Elenor Barretta was taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence and simple possession.
