22-year-old Ledarius Lamont Lusk stole from the Shell Gas station on Riverside Drive in the early hours of January 29th. Officers were dispatched regarding suspicious activity and located Lusk when they arrived, reeking of alcohol. Then, Lusk admitted to stealing a beer from the gas station before officers arrived. Lusk was deemed a danger to himself and was taken into custody for public intoxication.

Aric Robinson assaults, locks wife in room during argument

31-year-old Aric Robinson was involved in a domestic dispute with his wife, April Robinson, at their shared residence on Ogburn Chapel Road on February 4th. As officers approached their home, they heard a female voice screaming, “Get off me! I can’t breathe!” Upon entry, the officers saw Aric standing over April, holding her to the ground. Aric was handcuffed and escorted outside of the residence. Once outside, Aric stated that he and April got into an argument. Aric stated he was holding April’s shoulders, and then they ended up on the ground with her screaming that she couldn’t breathe. Officers then made contact with April, who stated that during their argument, Aric locked her inside a room. April stated that Aric didn’t let her out of the room and that she had to break the door to escape. The argument continued until Aric grabbed April by the arms, leading to the couple shoving each other multiple times. The shoving continued until they both fell to the ground. Aric then got on top of April and held her down while she was screaming for him to get off her. Aric Robinson was taken into custody and charged with domestic assault.

DUI: Shane Castillo swerves into oncoming traffic, tells police “Just arrest me”

39-year-old Shane Castillo, an employee of Ajax Distributing Company, was seen in his silver Nissan Titan swerving toward oncoming traffic at Dover Road on February 4th. Officers stopped Castillo because Castillo nearly hit an officer’s patrol car when he swerved toward oncoming traffic. When officers made contact with Castillo, they noted that Castillo reeked of alcohol. Initially, Castillo was ready to perform some field sobriety tests, but when Castillo exited his vehicle, he stumbled several times. Once officers began the instruction phase of a test, Castillo refused to attempt the test and stated, “Just arrest me.” Shane Castillo was taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence.

Eddie Howard bites roommate’s nose during physical altercation

29-year-old Eddie Howard was involved in an altercation with his roommate, Darrell Fuson, at the Cumberland Manor Apartments in the early hours of February 4th. Upon arriving at the unit where the complaint was filed, officers spoke to Fuson. Fuson told officers that Howard bit his nose during a physical altercation. Howard’s bite left visible lacerations on Fuson’s nose. Eddie Howard was taken into custody and charged with domestic assault.

Sharquil Thomas punches daughter multiple times in the face

35-year-old Sharquil Thomas was involved in an altercation with her 16-year-old daughter at their shared residence at Cotton Court on February 5th. When officers arrived at their residence, they made contact with Thomas’s daughter, who told them that her mother assaulted her. Officers observed a visible scratch on her face, a welp on the inside of her left forearm, and a scratch on her right arm. She continued by saying that she was hit once with a belt by Thomas while in the shower, then Thomas mounted her daughter and began to punch her multiple times in the face. Sharquil Thomas was taken into custody and charged with domestic assault.

Jessica McCartney punches husband to get his phone

28-year-old Jessica McCartney was involved in a domestic dispute with her husband, Derek McCartney, at Russet Ridge Drive on February 4th. Upon contact with officers, Derek stated that he had a physical altercation with Jessica, his wife. He explained that he was sitting on the couch in the living room when Jessica came home and demanded his phone. Jessica then tried to take his phone from his hand, causing a struggle over it. Derek stated that this was when Jessica punched him in the stomach to get his phone from him. In order to get her off of him, Derek grabbed her by the collar, leaving a scratch on her nose. When officers made contact with Jessica, she admitted that she tried to force Derek’s phone out of his hand. She added that Derek scratched her when he reached for her collar and pulled her toward the door, telling her to get out of the house. Jessica McCartney was taken into custody and charged with domestic assault.

Stephanie McCracken attacks her sister

39-year-old Stephanie McCracken was jailed on February 4th after assaulting her sister on LaLonde Circle. Savana Taylor told police that she and her sister had gotten into an argument. During the argument, Savana grabbed her by the neck and strangled her, constricting her airway. Savana added that she was also hit several times in the face. Officers observed a bloody nose and red marks on her neck, consistent with being strangled. McCracken was deemed the primary aggressor and taken into custody.

Heather Charvis assaults husband during argument

41-year-old Heather Charvis was involved in a domestic dispute with her husband, Elijah Charvis, at the Kirkwood Place apartments on February 3rd. The couple was yelling and arguing at one another, leading to pushing and shoving. Elijah felt trapped in the kitchen because Heather was standing in the doorway. Heather proceeded to throw a drink and other items at him. Elijah attempted to leave the kitchen by shoving Heather out of the way, then ran into the bathroom. The argument resumed when he left the bathroom and escalated to Heather pushing him. Heather then fell and hit her head and elbow on the floor, causing her elbow to bleed. Elijah ran to her aid and got her a towel to stop the bleeding. Heather Charvis was taken into custody and charged with domestic assault.

DUI: David Huynh drives through McGregor Park after drinking 2 beers at Electric Cowboy

22-year-old David Huynh was jailed on February 4th when officers observed a dark-colored vehicle driving through the grass into McGregor Park. The car then pulled out in front of officers who were stationary in the Electric Cowboy parking lot. Officers performed a traffic stop on the vehicle at North Riverside Drive/North 2nd Street. Officers asked Huynh how many drinks he had, and Huynh advised officers that he had two beers at the troubled Electric Cowboy before driving. Huynh then performed poorly on sobriety tests and was taken into custody.

27-year-old Kelsey Ann Smith was jailed on February 4th after assaulting her boyfriend on Jack Miller Boulevard. Charles Winters stated that he and Smith got into a heated argument, and she slapped him. Officers observed redness on Winter’s chest, which he said was from being pushed during the argument. Smith was then placed into custody and transported to Montgomery County Jail.

Mike Santiago booked on 2023 warrant for stealing woman’s gun

27-year-old Mike Santiago was booked on an outstanding warrant from March 27th, 2023, when he stole a .38 Smith and Wesson. On March 7th, 2023, Ann Hibler allowed Santiago to use her vehicle while she was away at rehab. Santiago told Hibler that he took her gun out of the car and put it in her storage unit. Hibler looked but didn’t find her gun in her vehicle or the storage unit. She was later notified that the firearm had been pawned on March 14th, 2023, at Cowboy Dan’s Trading Post & Pawn on Dover Road. Hibler’s gun was valued at $2,500.

Stephon Newby hides from police inside Kroger, tells police people are trying to kill him

26-year-old Stephon Newby was jailed on February 3rd after hiding from officers inside the Kroger on Madison Street. Officers could smell alcohol coming from his breath as he told them that someone was trying to kill him. While officers talked to Newby, he would repeatedly state that customers walking by were trying to kill him. Officers determined Newby was a danger to himself and placed him in custody for public intoxication.

21-year-old Angela Clarita Weinrich was a being a nuisance at Kelly’s Big Burger on Riverside Drive in the early hours of February 3rd. Officers arrived and noticed Weinrich was highly intoxicated. Weinrich was unable to give them her name or address. Weinrich did not have a cellphone or any form of identification, so for her safety, she was taken into custody for public intoxication.

Derrick Hughes assaults girlfriend after she confronts him over hotel receipt

42-year-old Derrick Hughes was involved in a domestic dispute with his girlfriend at Abby Creek Drive on February 1st. The altercation stemmed from Hughes’ girlfriend finding a receipt to a hotel room. When she confronted Hughes, he got upset and hit her in the chest. She provided law enforcement with an audio recording of the argument between herself and Hughes. In the recording, officers heard both of them arguing, and then there was what sounded like a scuffle between them. Shortly after the scuffle, officers heard Hughes’ girlfriend yell, “Don’t put your hands on me!” When officers contacted Hughes about the incident, he said nothing happened, and there was no argument. Derrick Hughes was taken into custody and charged with domestic assault.

Ethan Bates booked after trying to sell drugs at Marathon Gas Station

20-year-old Ethan Bates was seen trying to sell drugs at the Marathon gas station on Holiday Drive early February 1st. The attendant at the gas station reported that Bates refused to leave and constantly asked if he wanted to buy drugs. Bates then walked to the Quality Inn lobby, turned around, and walked out. Earlier that same evening, Bates was kicked out of a Tanning Salon for walking in without a shirt or shoes. When officers came into contact with Bates, he walked away from them several times despite being in handcuffs. Once he was inside a patrol car, he immediately urinated on himself. Bates was taken into custody and charged with public intoxication.

Marque Collins speeds on I-24, caught with over 4 ounces of marijuana in vehicle

34-year-old Marque Collins was seen speeding in a white Hyundai Elantra on Interstate 24 West early on January 27th. Collins was recorded going 87 mph in a 70 mph zone. When officers conducted a traffic stop, they noted that they immediately noticed the strong scent of fresh marijuana. Officers asked Collins if there was any marijuana in the car, and he handed them a small bag of marijuana. While he was doing that, an officer observed an opened container of Hennessy in the center console. After running his ID, officers noticed Collins reach into the back seat and passenger seat. When Collins was confronted, he provided officers with a small gray bag hidden in some laundry containing two jars of marijuana, another baggy of marijuana, and empty Ziploc bags. The combined weight of the marijuana found was 4.47 ounces/127 grams. Collins’ vehicle was also found not to have insurance. Upon investigation, Collins was found to have multiple marijuana charges as well as a revoked license. Marque Collins was taken into custody and charged with possession with intent to distribute unlawful drug paraphernalia, speeding, open container, no insurance, and suspended license.

Tammy Williams assaults wife with kitchen knife during argument, caught with crack cocaine

53-year-old Tammy Williams was involved in a domestic altercation with her wife, Karen Latham, at the Turtle Creek Townhomes on January 26th. The couple were in the midst of an argument when Williams armed herself with a kitchen knife and held it to Latham’s throat. When officers searched Williams’s person, they located a bag containing what looked to be a white rock and a plastic pipe wrapped with wire. The white rock substance tested positive for Crack Cocaine. Tammy Williams was taken into custody and charged with aggravated domestic assault, simple possession or casual exchange, and unlawful drug paraphernalia.

25-year-old Alvis Lopez-Jacinto was seen intoxicated at North Riverside Drive on January 28th. Lopez was in the front passenger seat of a vehicle that had been pulled over but displayed clear signs of intoxication. The driver was taken into custody for DUI, so Lopez had to get out of the car. Lopez had trouble maintaining balance when he got out and almost fell multiple times. Lopez could not find a ride in a reasonable amount of time and was deemed a danger to himself. Alvis Lopez was taken into custody and charged with public intoxication.

45-year-old Joshua Aaron Smith failed to stop for a stop sign at the Queens Bluff Way and Ashland City Road intersection in the early hours of January 28th. Officers observed this, conducted a traffic stop, and observed Smith to be visibly intoxicated as they approached the driver’s side. He admitted to drinking, consented to sobriety tests, and performed poorly. They informed him of implied consent, and he agreed to provide a blood sample. Smith was taken into custody for driving under the influence and a stop sign violation.

Ricky Jones calls 911 to yell at police for not being able to turn his power back on

48-year-old Ricky Olburn Jones called the 911 emergency line about turning his power back on in the early hours of January 28th. Jones yelled and cursed at the officers when they arrived. Then, officers told him to call the power company, advising him that CPD could not help with the issue. Jones told officers that he would call 911 again. Officers informed him that he would be taken to jail for misuse of emergency services if he did. Jones called anyway, and he was taken into custody for excessive 911 calls.
