Marque Collins speeds on I-24, caught with over 4 ounces of marijuana in vehicle

34-year-old Marque Collins was seen speeding in a white Hyundai Elantra on Interstate 24 West early on January 27th. Collins was recorded going 87 mph in a 70 mph zone. When officers conducted a traffic stop, they noted that they immediately noticed the strong scent of fresh marijuana. Officers asked Collins if there was any marijuana in the car, and he handed them a small bag of marijuana. While he was doing that, an officer observed an opened container of Hennessy in the center console. After running his ID, officers noticed Collins reach into the back seat and passenger seat. When Collins was confronted, he provided officers with a small gray bag hidden in some laundry containing two jars of marijuana, another baggy of marijuana, and empty Ziploc bags. The combined weight of the marijuana found was 4.47 ounces/127 grams. Collins’ vehicle was also found not to have insurance. Upon investigation, Collins was found to have multiple marijuana charges as well as a revoked license. Marque Collins was taken into custody and charged with possession with intent to distribute unlawful drug paraphernalia, speeding, open container, no insurance, and suspended license.

Andrew Williams flees scene of accident due to driving without license

20-year-old Andrew Sydney Heustis Williams was the at-fault driver in an accident that occurred near Wilma Rudolph and Westfield Court on January 13th. Williams fled the scene before officers arrived, but they were able to identify him. The NCIC confirmed that he had a suspended license for failure to pay fines or costs, active since August 6th, 2023. Williams was taken into custody for leaving the scene of an accident, failing to exercise due care, and driving on a revoked/suspended license on January 26th.

Treyvon Johnson resists arrest, punches police officer in face

28-year-old Treyvon Johnson was jailed on November 28th after police pulled him over on College Street for having illegal tint. Police confirmed the 4% tint with the tint meter. Johnson was in the driver’s seat, appearing agitated and making furtive movements. Police asked him to exit the vehicle multiple times, and when he did, they smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the car.

Johnson got back in the vehicle, so officers had to remove him and place him in cuffs. He then resisted by pulling away until he had to be taken to the ground, where he punched an officer in the face. After a brief struggle, he was eventually placed into custody. A search yielded a plastic bag of marijuana in his pocket, and he was transported to booking. A check through NCIC revealed Johnson had a warrant out for his arrest for driving on a suspended license.

Marty Lambert charged with DUI after leaving Scooter’s

54-year-old Marty Lambert was booked on May 21st after police pulled her over for a broken license plate light on Ashland City Road and Glendale Drive. Police pulled over Ms. Lambert in her white 1999 Chevy Silverado. She provided her ID, informed police that her license was suspended, and she didn’t have current insurance. Police noticed her bloodshot eyes and could smell alcohol coming from her breath. She told police that she was coming from Scooter’s Bar and Grill, where she had two drinks. Ms. Lambert consented to sobriety tests and performed poorly before giving up and refusing to continue.

Shawntre Brown booked on warrants after she walks away from attempted traffic stop

30-year-old Shawntre Devon Brown is charged with speeding, driving on a revoked license (for the second time), and driving with expired tags after officers observed her traveling 55 mph in a 35 mph zone in September. As she noticed an officer was behind her, she pulled into Whitney Drive and parked, and walked away down the street. The officer stayed with the vehicle, and a short time later, a man came to get the vehicle, who turned out to be her father. He confirmed her identity, and the warrants were issued for her arrest. She was booked on the outstanding warrants on September 29th.

Woman gives fake name, but they both have suspended licenses — Kaliyah Ellis arrested

Police stopped a Chevy HHR with expired tags on February 16th, and the driver identified herself as Zantwinette Ellis, who showed as having a suspended driver’s license. Officers placed the woman into custody, and while en route to booking, admitted she lied about her identity, and she was really 24-year-old Kaliyah Ellis. It turns out her license was also suspended.
