34-year-old David Owen was jailed on May 6th after beating his uncle in the head with a cane after overhearing a disagreement about breakfast. Eva Parker told police that she asked her grandson, Philip Rubio, how many eggs he wanted for breakfast, and he replied, “three.” David Peacher told Philip that there wouldn’t be enough for everyone else. During that conversation, Mr. Owen came from the back room with a whittled stick that he used as a cane and hit Mr. Peacher over the head, leaving a gash that bled profusely. Mr. Owens admitted to gathering everyone’s cell phones and placing them outside so no one could call law enforcement after police saw the phones outside. Peacher had to walk to a neighbor’s house to call the police.
