Mary Wordlaw breaks her cousin’s right eye socket after breaking into her home

24-year-old Mary Annette Wordlaw, a Popeyes employee, and her cousin, Kayliyah Nachelle Ellis, had a domestic incident with their cousin, Candice Corbin, at her Summit Heights apartment on the night of March 29th. On April 4th, around 9:45, Corbin alerted the authorities, advising them of the occurrence. Corbin stated that she and her boyfriend were at home when they heard a knock on the door and what sounded like a male saying his name. She added that he just had surgery that day, and a bunch of his friends had come to check on him, so she assumed it was one of them. Then, Corbin said she looked out of the peephole and did not see anyone, so she cracked the front door open. Corbin stated this was when Wordlaw and Ellis pushed in the door and started hitting her in the head until neighbors overheard the commotion and came to intervene. Corbin said that they left afterward, and she was not thinking clearly at the time of the attack. Because of this, Corbin did not call the police or seek medical attention. After several days of being in pain and her eye burning, she went to Tennova on April 1st. Tennova employees advised Corbin that her orbital socket was broken into two places. Wordlaw was taken into custody for aggravated burglary on April 25th.

Azuri Young steals deposit bag from Subway containing $2,165

27-year-old Azuri Young was jailed after stealing a deposit bag containing over $2,000 from the Walmart parking lot on Madison Street. On April 11th, officers spoke with the manager of the Subway located inside the Walmart, Rakeshkumar Patel, who stated that an employee, Patricia Chirchirillo, had told her that he had misplaced the deposit bag.

Officers checked security footage from the parking lot and observed Chirchirillo get out of her vehicle and drop the bag as she walked toward the building. A short time later, a larger-framed black man wearing a dark hoodie, with a beard and short dreads, got out of a black Dodge Charger and placed the bag in a shopping cart. A records check identified Azuri as the suspect and revealed he was Chirchirillo’s son.

Police contacted Azuri and informed him that he was caught on camera taking the Subway deposit bag, but he denied it and demanded to see the proof. Officers called Chirchirillo to persuade her to have her son return the money, but they were unsuccessful. On April 25th, Azuri was taken into custody and charged with theft.

Jaqwan Duncan steals $3,000 & Glock 17 from roommate while moving out

22-year-old Jaqwan Duncan was caught after stealing from his roommate at a Peabody Drive apartment residence. On August 3rd, 2023, Officers contacted the victim at his apartment residence, and he stated that he had a roommate, whom he identified as Duncan. The victim stated that Duncan had taken numerous items from him. He also noted that Duncan was moving out and had left the residence. When Duncan returned, the victim saw his shoes and PlayStation 5 in a bag on the couch. The victim then stated that he saw Duncan walking down the stairs with more of his property. When The victim entered his bedroom, he noticed it was ransacked. The victim noticed he was missing $3000 in cash and a Glock 17 handgun. When the victim confronted Duncan, he left the front door, got into a black Honda Civic, and then left the residence. Duncan was taken into custody for theft on April 26th.

DUI: Erik Polanco too drunk after leaving Electric Cowboy

36-year-old Erik Polanco was seen behind the wheel of a blue Dodge Ram 1500 at the Whataburger on North 2nd Street early on April 26th. When officers arrived, they spoke with Polanco, who was demonstrating multiple signs of intoxication. The passenger inside Polanco’s car told officers they had just come from the Electric Cowboy and went to Whataburger for food. Polanco told officers that the Electric Cowboy was a bowling alley. The passenger admitted that the two had been drinking. However, Polanco stated that he didn’t have any alcohol before he started driving. Erik Polanco refused to perform sobriety tests, so he was taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence.

DUI: John McClellan crashes car, drives into ditch after having “a couple shots”

34-year-old John McClellan was involved in a two-vehicle car accident on April 28th. Witnesses of the incident told law enforcement that they observed McClellan cross the center line and into the opposite travel lane. When McClellan’s car collided with the other vehicle, McClellan’s car continued until it entered a ditch. When Officers came into contact with McClellan, he appeared heavily intoxicated and smelt of alcohol. This led to officers requesting McClellan to execute field sobriety tests. McClellan consented to sobriety tests but performed poorly. When asked if he had anything to drink, McClellan said he had “a couple shots.” John McClellan was taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence.

Christopher Watkins charged with 2 counts of homicide for involvement in Martin Street shooting

According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, 20-year-old Christopher Watkins was involved in the shooting on Martin Street on April 8th. When detectives arrived, they discovered two victims, Savannah Lumpkin and Glenn Nicholson Jr, deceased from gunshot wounds. While looking around the area, detectives received witness statements putting a white SUV at the house at the time of the shooting. A separate witness told detectives that shortly after the time of the homicides, a white SUV entered the Summit Heights projects with armed individuals, including Watkins and Tyson Mullins, exiting it carrying guns and a small safe-like object. Detectives were able to obtain surveillance footage that showed the SUV traveling to and from the location of the homicides. Additional footage showed five individuals walking empty-handed to the scene of the homicide and then exiting with an individual holding a black object. Video footage also showed Watkins exiting and then re-entering the rear doors of the SUV. Christopher Watkins was taken into custody and charged with two counts of homicide on April 23rd.

Maurice Pringle caught with 14 grams of marijuana after trespassing at Dodge’s

38-year-old Maurice Pringle was seen walking into Dodge’s on April 25th. Officers on patrol observed Pringle, who had an active warrant for criminal trespassing, walking into Dodge’s. Officers conducted a search of his person and found a stolen credit card, marijuana, rolling papers, cigarillos, a scale, and a grinder. The marijuana was weighed at 14.175 grams. During the investigation, it was found that Pringle had been trespassed from Dodge’s since July 6th, 2021. Maurice Pringle was taken into custody and charged with criminal trespassing, theft, and simple possession.

Jonathan Burns jailed for breaking into multiple cars at Holiday Inn in 2023

19-year-old Jonathan Burns was caught after breaking into numerous vehicles in the parking lot of Holiday Inn on Cracker Barrel Drive. On December 21st, 2023, Officers patrolling the area observed a black Mercedes sedan with a door slightly open. Officers noticed a broken front passenger window on a GMC Sierra in the area. Proceeding this, three black individuals fled toward the Mercedes and fled at high speed. Officers also located a Chevy Silverado with a broken rear driver window. The owner of the GMC, Randall Hagenbuch, spoke with officers and stated that several credit/debit cards and $1,300 cash were missing from his truck. Officers then spoke with Lucas Wesley, the owner of the Silverado, who stated that his HP laptop was missing from his vehicle.

On February 22nd, 2024, Officers spoke with a detective from Murfreesboro who stated that on December 27th, 2023, he arrested Burns, who was in a black Mercedes Benz whose tags were reported stolen by Shakella Duncan out of Nashville on December 20th, 2023. On February 28th, 2024, Officers traveled to Murfreesboro, spoke with investigators, and were provided with the downloaded data seized from Burns’s cell phone. The phone’s location history showed burns to have been in Clarksville, specifically on Cracker Barrel Drive, when the crime had been committed on December 21st, 2023. Officers attempted to interview Burns, but he claimed he had never been to Clarksville. Burns was charged with burglary of a motor vehicle.

Sondrea Tartt walks behind counter, steals $34 worth of food from Slim Chickens

31-year-old Sondrea Tartt was caught stealing from Slim Chickens on January 31st. When officers arrived, they spoke with the manager of Slim Chickens, Maci Blackwell. She told officers that two customers came in, were very rude to staff, and then stole a couple of orders. Blackwell showed officers video evidence of Rolando Cobb and Tartt coming up to the counter, causing a commotion with the employees. Tartt was observed in the camera footage stealing two brownies, then going around the counter and stealing a five-in-five meal as well as a six-wing meal, all valued at $34.19. Tartt exited the store, got into a stolen Ford Explorer with Cobb, and drove off. Sondrea Tartt was taken into custody and charged with burglary.

Taylor Binker steals $13 worth of merchandise from Walmart

23-year-old Taylor Binker was caught shoplifting at the Walmart on Fort Campbell Boulevard on April 10th. Once Blinker was inside the store, she was observed grabbing miscellaneous items from the shelf. After making her selections, she went to the self-checkout, where she skipped the scan. The value of the merchandise Blinker concealed was $13.39. Taylor Binker was taken into custody and charged with theft on April 24th.

Gabrianna Orona punches boyfriend after dispute over child

20-year-old Gabrianna Orona was involved in a domestic dispute with her boyfriend, Zechariah, at their Feng Way residence on April 24th. She told officers that she pushed Zechariah because he would not give the paperwork that belonged to her and their daughter. Orona then told officers that after she pushed him, he strangled her.

Officers then spoke with Zechariah, who stated that he was punched in the chest by Orona because she wanted their daughter back, so he pushed her away. Due to officers seeing no evidence of Zechariah strangling Orona, they could not arrest him, but because Orona admitted to pushing Zechariah, she was taken into custody and charged with domestic assault

Ayanna Mayfield rushes into ex-boyfriend’s home to assault him during altercation

26-year-old Ayanna Mayfield was involved in a domestic altercation with her ex-boyfriend, LaDonta Wagner, at the Post’s Edge townhomes on April 24th. When officers arrived, they made contact with Wagner and Nataile Tivis. They stated that Mayfield came to their residence and started pounding on the door. When Tivis opened the door, Mayfield forced her way past Tivis and began assaulting Wagner with an unknown accomplice. Wagner sustained several scratches to his face, hands, and chest but refused medical attention. Law enforcement attempted to call Mayfield multiple times, but she refused to answer. Ayanna Mayfield was taken into custody and charged with domestic assault and aggravated burglary on April 25th.

Stephen Seay knocks girlfriend’s teeth loose during argument over TV volume

39-year-old Stephen Seay was involved in a domestic altercation with his girlfriend, Sandra Bockenstedt, at the Gateway Inn & Suite parking lot on January 24th. Seay told officers that during an argument with Bockenstedt, she started throwing stuff at him. According to Bockenstedt, the argument was over the TV being too loud. Seay became upset over the volume, so he grabbed Bockenstedt by her shirt and ripped it. After ripping her shirt, Seay began hitting Bockenstedt in the face, causing loose teeth and red marks on her face and neck. Stephen Seay was determined to be the primary aggressor, taken into custody, and charged with aggravated domestic assault.

DUI: Ronda Martin falls asleep behind the wheel after drinking “one beer”

40-year-old Ronda Lee Martin, an employee at Gary J. Smith, M.D, was sitting in the Providence Boulevard Raceway parking lot around 2 a.m. on April 24th. Officers observed this and initiated a welfare check, during which she was sleeping in her driver’s seat. As officers shook her arm to wake her up, they noticed she reeked of alcohol and had an open beer can in the center console. Martin admitted to having one beer.

Officers asked Martin to provide her driver’s credentials, and she handed them her house key. She consented to sobriety tests, performed poorly, and after being informed of implied consent, agreed to provide a breath sample, which resulted in 0.187 BAC%. Martin was taken into custody for an open container violation and driving under the influence.

26-year-old David Key was involved in a shooting at Swift Lane, late April 23rd. During the investigation of the incident, it was revealed that Key and Michael Colgate II were involved in an argument with a gun. Surveillance footage showed Colgate toss a firearm to the ground. Key picked it up and pointed it at him. David Key was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault.

42-year-old Robert Edward Conner had a domestic incident with his daughter, Teresa Conner, at their Morrison Drive residence around 10 p.m. on April 23rd. When the officers arrived, they spoke with Teresa, who stated that she had argued with her father on the way home after he picked her up from work. She said when they got in the driveway, she asked him to stop talking to her, to which he then slapped her in the face. Robert denied that any physical contact occurred. Robert Conner was deemed the primary aggressor and then was taken into custody for domestic assault.

Maria Rodriguez-Serrano beats children after night of drinking

36-year-old Maria Rodriguez-Serrano was caught abusing her 16-year-old son and 9-year-old daughter at her Aspen Drive residence on April 23rd. Serrano’s son contacted law enforcement, alerting them that his mother had become aggressive. Officers arrived at the location and spoke with Serrano’s son and daughter.

They told officers that Serrano was intoxicated and punched them. Serrano’s daughter pleaded with her not to drive because of how drunk she was. This only led to Serrano punching and slapping her daughter. Serrano came back into the house and started beating her son in the head and body multiple times. When officers spoke with Serrano, she provided no details about the events. All she told officers was that they had a bad night. Maria Rodriguez-Serrano was taken into custody and charged with two counts of domestic assault.

Kelsey Mendoza hits grandmother in head with dumbbell

22-year-old Kelsey Juanita Mendoza had a domestic incident with her grandmother, Juanita Denise Traughber, at her Center Road residence on the night of April 23rd. When officers arrived, they located Traughber and her husband, Edward Weaver, in front of their home and noticed Traughber had visible bruises on her left eye and an open wound to the right side of her head. She advised them that Mendoza had come by unannounced to pick up the items her mother had left behind. Traughber said that while Mendoza collected her mom’s belongings in the bedroom, a verbal argument ensued, during which she asked her to leave, but Mendoza refused because she wanted to take a bed from the room. Mendoza then punched her grandmother twice in the face and pushed her against the wall. Traughber pushed her back, fueling their scuffle, which led to them on the ground, where Mendoza picked up a 1.5-pound dumbbell and hit her on the right side of the head before Weaver broke up the fight.

Officers went to Mendoza’s Evans Road residence, where she stated that she showed up at her grandparents’ house, adding that she “did announce herself” to them. She tried to take a bed from the bedroom because it was her mother’s, but her grandmother became upset and told her to leave. She said during their verbal dispute, Traughber lunged forward and punched her on the bridge of her nose. Mendoza said that she punched her in the face and pushed her off her. She advised that her foot got caught between the bed and the floor, causing her to fall on the floor, where Traughber mounted her, started hitting her, and hindered her from getting up. Mendoza said she reached for the dumbbell and hit her on the foot to get her off, which was ineffective, prompting her to hit her on the back of the head with it before leaving the scene. Mendoza was taken into custody for aggravated domestic assault.

DUI: David Smith caught with handgun after driving recklessly on Trenton Road

38-year-old David John Smith was observed driving his Ford F-150 recklessly near Trenton Road and Tiny Town Road around 6 p.m. on April 23rd. Officers noticed him in the parking lot of the 7/11 nearby, showing signs of impairment as he admitted to having three shots about 2 hours before driving to the gas station. He consented to sobriety tests and performed poorly. During a subsequent search, they located a small, yellow Diazepam pill rolled in a $1 bill with residue on it, a loaded .45 caliber handgun near his driver’s seat, and a brown bag full of 99-brand alcohol shooters with one open and nearly empty. After being informed of implied consent, he agreed to provide a blood sample. Smith was taken into custody for simple possession, driving under the influence, and possession of a handgun while being under the influence.
