DUI: Shala Anthony Edwards recklessly drives in circles on Christmas morning

39-year-old Shala Anthony Edwards was booked Christmas morning after reports of a black male driving recklessly in circles on Dublin Drive, honking and hitting a stop sign. When police arrived, they observed the SUV and driver matching the description. They witnessed the SUV park in front of a home on Dublin Drive. Officers watched as Mr. Edwards drove toward Pollard Lane and parked at the stop sign, blocking an entire lane of traffic. When the police made contact with Mr. Edwards, he was slurring his words, and his eyes were staring upward. The officers asked him to turn off his engine and step out of the vehicle, to which he nodded in understanding but rolled his window up instead. The officer knocked on the window, and Mr. Edwards opened the door, dropping his key to the ground as he exited the vehicle. Edwards was smiling as he leaned against his SUV. Officers attempted to investigate Mr. Edwards, but his speech was so slurred they couldn’t understand his answers. He smelled like alcohol and was placed into custody for suspicion of DUI. He refused a blood sample, and a warrant was obtained for a blood draw. Mr. Edwards was transported to Tennova before being taken to booking.

35-year-old Jonathan Cepeda, an employee of Publix, was booked early Christmas morning after officers observed a blue sedan swerve into oncoming traffic down Dover Road. Officers initiated a traffic stop and observed that Jonathan reeked of alcohol. He admitted to drinking alcohol and performed poorly on sobriety tests. He was taken into custody and blew a .162% BAC on a breathalyzer.

DUI: Jamye Thomas denies drinking alcohol before swerving into multiple lanes on Fort Campbell Blvd

30-year-old Jamye Thomas was jailed on December 26th after officers observed a gray Nissan Rogue swerving off the shoulder into multiple lanes on Fort Campbell Boulevard. Police initiated a traffic stop on Collier Road, where the driver ran over a curb. Officers could smell alcohol coming from the vehicle as they spoke to Ms. Thomas. Ms. Thomas appeared confused and had difficulties locating paperwork. She stated that she had smoked a substance but refused to reveal what that substance was and denied drinking any alcohol. Later, Thomas admitted to only smoking her vape and consented to field sobriety tests. She performed poorly multiple times and was taken into custody. When officers ran her name, they discovered a revoked handgun carry permit. When asked about the handgun, she admitted to having a handgun in the vehicle. However, Ms. Thomas advised the magazine was removed and in a separate location. A check through NCIC confirmed the handgun was not stolen. Jamye Thomas was taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence and possession of a firearm under the influence.

DUI: Ebony Cue jailed after having “a few beers and a few shots” before driving on expired tags

45-year-old New Providence Middle School Teacher’s Assistant Ebony Cue was jailed on December 26th. Police observed a black Kia sedan driving down Dover Road with a dysfunctional tag light. The officer followed the vehicle and made a traffic stop on Ashley Oaks Drive, where officers discovered that the vehicle’s tags had expired on July 31st, 2023. The driver, Ebony Cue, was observed smelling strongly of alcohol and having a difficult time holding her bloodshot eyes open while speaking to the officers. She admitted to drinking “a few beers and a few shots” and taking several different medications, one being Lexapro. Ebony was asked to perform field sobriety tests, on which she performed poorly and was taken into custody. Once at booking, Ebony blew a .033% on a breathalyzer. Officers later discovered that Ebony had a prior DUI in 2017.

DUI: Dustin Mckie-Miller found drunk in a ditch, tells police “My girlfriend was driving!”

28-year-old Dustin Mckie-Miller was found drunk in a ditch on Buttercup Drive in his Chevy Malibu on December 21st. Dustin’s girlfriend, Carly Schroeder, contacted the police and told them that her boyfriend had been drinking all day and was now driving. Dustin was found in the passenger seat of his vehicle with the keys in the cup holder. When officers spoke with him, the odor of alcohol was emitting from his breath. Dustin was asked if he was driving and stated, “My girlfriend was driving!” But that contradicted the video evidence Carly gave law enforcement, which showed Dustin leaving the driveway in his vehicle. Officers asked Dustin if he wanted to perform some field sobriety tests, but he declined and asked for his lawyer. Dustin Mckie-Miller was taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence.

61-year-old David Montoe Hubbard was driving on Rossview Road in his white Ford Explorer on the morning of December 14th. Hubbard’s vehicle was described as a suspect vehicle for a domestic incident. 26-year-old David Laszlo Beranek Jr. was going 93 mph in a 65-mph zone on Dover Road on December 13th. Officers observed this, attempted to catch up, and watched him nearly collide with another vehicle near Lylewood Road as they yielded for the officer’s vehicle, which had its emergency lights on. A traffic stop was conducted, and Beranek Jr. admitted to consuming 2.5 beers as he spoke with slurred words. He consented to sobriety tests, performed poorly, and was detained. A subsequent search of his vehicle yielded a loaded handgun underneath the center console and a spilled bottle of beer on the passenger’s floorboard. He was read implied consent and agreed to provide breath samples, which resulted in 0.170% BAC and 0.180% BAC. Beranek Jr. was taken into custody for driving under the influence, open container violation, speeding, reckless driving, and possessing a handgun while under the influence.

30-year-old Patrick Michael Crouse had a car accident on Lylewood Road on December 13th. Officers arrived, observed a blue Chevy truck in a ditch, and identified Crouse as the driver. Crouse became aggressive while being detained; when being escorted to the patrol car, Crouse attempted to run, so they tactically took him down. 30-year-old Danelle Dameron, an employee of Billy’s Bar and Grill, was found in a single-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle at the intersection of Fort Campbell and Dover on December 12th. When officers arrived, they made contact with Dameron. She was unable to walk in a straight line. When asked if she had anything to drink, Dameron responded, “No.” Dameron then consented to perform field sobriety tests, which she performed poorly on. She also consented to get blood drawn at Tennova Main for medical clearance. It was revealed via a search through the National Crime Information Center that Dameron had a prior DUI conviction in November 2020. Dameron was taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence.

DUI: Adrea Hicks caught with marijuana in glove box

27-year-old Adrea Hicks was seen speeding and failing to maintain her lane at Fort Campbell Boulevard and Cunningham Lane on December 11th. When officers conducted a traffic stop, they made contact with Hicks and observed an open container of alcohol at her feet. Hicks was then asked to give police her paperwork for the car. This was when officers noticed a bag of marijuana in the glove box as she opened it. A test was conducted on the marijuana that tested positive for THC. Officers ran Hicks through the National Crime Information Center and found that she had a suspended license with a warrant for Failing to Appear. Hicks was then asked to perform some field sobriety tests, on which she performed poorly. Hick was taken into custody and charged with simple possession, driving under the influence, open container, and driving on a suspended license on December 12th.

DUI: Matthew Trapp drinks can of Truly before speeding past officers

36-year-old Matthew Trapp was found driving under the influence at Fort Campbell Boulevard and 101st Airborne Division Parkway on December 9th. Officers were diverting traffic when Trapp blew past them in a Toyota sedan. Upon making contact with Trapp at a light, the officer observed an open can of Truly in the center console. While speaking with him, the officer observed that Trapp was inebriated. The officer asked him to step out of the vehicle and placed him in custody. Due to heavy traffic and a tornado touching down earlier, no field sobriety tests were conducted. The passenger in the car with Trapp, Christina Dolphin, stated that the can of Truly was his and that they were coming from a bar. Trapp was read his Miranda rights but refused to answer any questions or provide a breath sample.

DUI: Frank Acy found slumped over steering wheel covered in urine

63-year-old Frank Acy was found slumped over the steering wheel of her white SUV on the side of Dover Road on December 8th. The officer tapped on the window to get Acy’s attention. Once he got out of the vehicle, he identified herself, and the officer noticed the smell of an alcoholic beverage coming from his person. This prompted the officer to ask Acy how much he had to drink, and Acy replied, “Probably more than I should have.” When the officer observed Acy’s person, he noticed that he had very steady feet but had urine on his pants and puke running down the side of his car. He agreed to complete some field sobriety tests but later declined to do tests. Acy was then read implied consent, which he refused. The officer then obtained a search warrant, but Acy also declined to abide by the search warrant while at the ER. Frank Acy was taken into custody and charged for tampering with evidence, dui, and implied consent on December 9th.

DUI: Deon Mister takes an “opioid” before driving on wrong side of the road

28-year-old Deon Mister was seen driving on the wrong side of the street in his White Chevy Spark on Stone Container Drive on December 7th. Mister passed a police cruiser erratically as he turned onto Stone Container Drive. The police cruiser he passed conducted a traffic stop on him. When the officer approached Mister, he had droopy eyelids, slurred speech, and appeared lethargic throughout the traffic stop. Mister advised the officer that about an hour or two before the traffic stop, he had taken an opioid for an injury he had. This led to the officer asking Mister to perform some field sobriety tests, but he performed poorly on all three stages. Mister was taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence.

DUI: Trey Kern swerves between lanes on I-24

23-year-old Trey Kern was found slowing down and speeding up on I-24 East on December 9th. Officers observed Kern continue to swerve and cross the center and fog line numerous times. After watching Kern continue doing this, the officer conducted a traffic stop. When he approached Kern, he asked if Kern had been drinking, and he replied no but said that his passenger had been drinking because they had just come from a party. He said they were going to Hopkinsville, Kentucky but officers noted they were heading east on I-24 toward Nashville. Kern was then asked to perform three field sobriety tests, in which he failed all three. Kern was taken into custody and charged with failure to maintain a lane and driving under the influence.

DUI: Soldier Colton McNabb crashes into multiple mailboxes at high-speed

25-year-old infantry soldier Colton McNabb was booked on a citation on December 10th after leaving the scene of an accident at Rollow Lane. Witnesses stated they heard a crash and watched a male leave the scene wearing a grey hoodie and slacks. Officers checked the registration for the vehicle, and it came back as McNabb’s vehicle. The vehicle had left the roadway at a high speed, causing damage to 2 mailboxes and a fence before coming to a stop. McNabb’s vehicle was covered in mud, and the airbag was deployed, with a small amount of blood being found on the side of the bag. Near the vehicle, there was an open container of beer, and inside of the vehicle there was a strong alcoholic odor. While searching for McNabb, the officers found a man matching the description covered in mud with recent injuries to his face that were still bleeding with no shoes. Upon contact with the officers, McNabb handed over his Florida driver’s license but was clearly inebriated. He was then asked if he was willing to perform any field sobriety test, but he said no. McNabb was then taken into custody.

23-year-old Sara Grace Klosterman was seen swerving on I-24 West by another driver in the early hours of December 4th. The concerned citizen advised the 911 operator with up-to-date locations as they followed Klosterman, watching her leave the interstate off Exit 8, swerve across lanes, leave the roadway, and hit a curb. Klosterman eventually pulled into the RaceTrac gas station on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard. Klosterman was visibly intoxicated as she spoke to officers, admitting to consuming an alcoholic beverage in Nashville. She then consented to sobriety tests, performed poorly, and provided a breath sample that resulted in a 0.152% BAC. Klosterman was taken into custody for driving under the influence.

DUI: Robert Joyce drinks “3 rum and cokes” before driving, caught with 12 grams of marijuana

56-year-old Robert Joyce was seen driving outside of Jiffy Lube on Fort Campbell Boulevard when a call to the police department reported that he was drunk driving on November 29th. Joyce told the arriving officers that he was trying to get his oil changed, but they noticed that there was an immediate smell of marijuana and alcohol coming from the truck. The officers then observed that Joyce was clearly inebriated. When asked, Joyce said he had three rum and cokes with a shot and a half per drink. But when told to give them a number between one and ten for how drunk he was, Joyce said that he was only a two. He also admitted that he was smoking weed three hours prior and that there was weed in his car. Joyce then consented to do field sobriety tests but was not able to perform all of them due to his arthritis. The tests Joyce was able to do were executed poorly. Officers found around 12 grams of weed in Joyce’s truck. Joyce was taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence and simple possession or casual exchange.

27-year-old Edwin Jones was found by an officer in the parking lot of Top Flight sleeping behind the wheel of a running car. The reporting officer proceeded to knock on the window for a few minutes before being able to wake up Jones. When woken up, Jones began to mumble to himself and refused to exit the vehicle until another responding unit arrived with emergency gear. Jones stumbled to the officers’ patrol car, reeking of alcohol, and refused to do any field sobriety tests. Jones was taken into custody and charged with DUI.

DUI: Ricky Rock Jr. hits brakes multiple times for no reason

33-year-old Whataburger employee Ricky Rock Jr. was seen driving under the influence on Trenton Road on November 23rd. Law enforcement observed Rock Jr. failing to stay in his lane and hitting his brakes multiple times despite there being no vehicles in front of him. Before the officer could pull him over, Rock Jr. pulled into a parking lot, so the officer followed him. When he exited his White Buick SUV, he voluntarily approached the patrol car. Rock Jr. consented to perform field sobriety tests but performed poorly. Rock Jr. was placed in custody for suspicion of DUI. A probable cause search of Rock Jr.’s Buick produced two open beer containers in plain sight. Rock Jr. was taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence.
