Military contractor Chelsea Obrien charged with DUI & possessing handgun while intoxicated

33-year-old military contractor Chelsea Obrien was booked on July 23rd when a Tennessee State Trooper observed a Blue Dodge speeding down Fort Campbell Boulevard, going 53 mph in a 45 mph zone, failing to stay in their lane of travel. When the trooper made contact with Ms. Obrien, he noticed her watery eyes and the odor of alcohol emitting from her body. She slurred as she told the trooper that she had one glass of wine. Ms. Obrien agreed to conduct sobriety tests but performed poorly and was asked to provide a breath sample that came back .116% BAC on the breathalyzer. A Smith and Wesson gun was later discovered in the center console.

DUI: Nathan Ip blows 0.246% BAC after drinking Sky Vodka & driving

32-year-old Nathan Ip was jailed on July 23rd after multiple reports of a Silver Dodge Challenger bearing Indiana tags driving erratically, swerving, and weaving all over the road on I-24 from miles 31 through 13. Police found and initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and were immediately able to tell that Mr. IP was extremely intoxicated. He performed poorly on all field sobriety tests and blew a 0.246% BAC on a breathalyzer.

23-year-old Darien Brooks was jailed on July 22nd when police observed him speeding down Tiny Town. Police radar confirmed he was going 61 mph in a 45 mph zone. Tonya Reddick charged with third DUI after crash

42-year-old Tonya Reddick was booked on July 8th after police responded to a vehicle that peeled off into the mud on the side of the road and wrecked. The officers immediately smelled a strong odor of alcohol coming from her, and she admitted to having a couple of drinks four to five hours prior. Ms. Reddick agreed to perform sobriety tests after several minutes of the officers trying to explain. Midway through, she said she was done and refused to continue. Officers located multiple bottles of alcohol in the center console and an empty cup. Two of the bottles were empty. This was Ms. Reddick’s third DUI offense.

21-year-old Samuell Hassell was jailed on July 16th after police were flagged down on Commerce Street by a complainant who said he was being followed by a Jeep Cherokee. When police asked Hassell why he was following the vehicle, he slowly responded that he thought it was his friend Ben. 24-year-old Austin Pristavec, a Fort Campbell Soldier, was jailed on July 16th after police observed him swerving and operating a cell phone on Fort Campbell Boulevard. When police pulled him over, they smelled alcohol coming from the vehicle, and Austin admitted to drinking earlier that evening. He agreed to sobriety testing and performed poorly. The search of his vehicle yielded a case of Busch Light on the floorboard along with a loaded Smith & Wesson Springfield 9mm. Austin blew a .093% BAC on a breathalyzer. He has no prior DUI history.

21-year-old Daequan Walton was observed doing 84 MPH and weaving through traffic on Providence Blvd. on July 17th by MCSO Deputy Ryherd. Deputy Ryherd conducted a traffic stop and spoke to Daequan, who admitted to drinking a six-pack. Another officer took over and evaluated Daequan’s sobriety test; he performed poorly and agreed to take a breathalyzer test. His BAC was 0.194 at that time.

22-year-old Jamarre Burnett was found asleep in a vehicle stopped in the middle of Ft. Campbell Blvd. outside Taco Johns on July 16th. CPD Officer Gonzalez responded and found Jamarre asleep, and woke him up by knocking on the driver’s side window. He was asked to step out of the car, Officer Gonzalez noted that he smelled strongly of alcohol and marijuana, and asked if he had been drinking. Jamarre stated that he had not been drinking and was coming from N’Quire off Riverside Dr. Officer Gonzalez questioned him about the direction he was headed in and stated that he did not know his location. He then performed poorly on a sobriety test and had blood taken at Sango ER before being booked.

DUI: Grace Standridge crashes into pole after two tallboy’s Four Lokos

21-year-old Grace Standridge was jailed last week for a vehicular crash with injuries on College Street. Standridge was driving her red Subaru Impreza and crashed into a pole in front of B&L Market. A witness stated that she saw Standridge run from the crash. Officers found her near the bridge between College Street and Wilma Rudolph Boulevard. She was transported to Tennova and read her Miranda Rights. She agreed to speak without an attorney present. Standridge told the officers that she and her friend Mr. Mekhi Bogertey had just left the Revel House and decided to turn into the parking lot of B&L Market.

She admitted to drinking to “tall boy Four Locos,” She smelled strongly of alcohol and had bloodshot eyes. She consented to a blood draw but then refused to let the nurses draw her blood. Standridge was driving on a learner’s permit and did not have a valid driver over the age of 21 with her. Mr. Bogertey was transported to Skyline Medical Center for his injuries which consisted of a broken leg or hip and lacerations to his head.

William Ragland blows 0.254% BAC after crash

26-year-old William Ragland was booked last week for driving drunk into a utility pole, causing ‘catastrophic’ damage to the vehicle and the surroundings. On April 13th, Ragland was driving a Chevrolet Silverado eastbound on Highway 76 and ran off the left side of the road near Gateway Plaza Boulevard and struck a utility pole and several fences before stopping on its side. The passenger’s side of the truck was resting on the ground, while the driver’s side was skyward. The truck hit the utility pole seven feet from the ground. Ragland did not have a seatbelt on and was partially ejected from the truck. The vehicle sustained catastrophic damage, the utility pole had to be replaced, and the fences sustained about 50 feet of damage. Ragland blew a .254% BAC on the breathalyzer, and it was later discovered that he was driving on a suspended license.

73-year-old Harold Harris was jailed on July 1st after being pulled over on Ashland City Road when police observed him swerving in his 2009 Nissan Altima. Soldier Cody Counterman jailed after DUI checkpoint finds him inebriated

27-year-old Fort Campbell Soldier Cody Counterman was observed at a sobriety checkpoint on May 26 just before midnight on Hwy 41-A. When an officer approached Counterman, he said that Counterman reeked of alcohol coming from his body. Counterman also had bloodshot and watery eyes. When Counterman was asked how many drinks he had taken, he responded with four Miller Lites at a friend’s house and that he was heading home. Counterman was given three sobriety tests and performed poorly on all three. He was then placed under arrest and taken into Montgomery County Jail, charged with DUI.

25-year-old Thomas Wynne was jailed on June 9th after police responded to a call of a dark-colored Ford F-150 swerving and driving in the middle lane. Police observed Wynne swerving in and out of lanes and slowing down significantly at a green light. Police followed the vehicle approximately a mile before pulling him over near Alfred Thun Road. When the officer spoke with Wynne, he noticed bloodshot eyes and a strong odor of alcohol emitting from his body. The officer told him that he could smell alcohol coming from his body, to which he then admitted he had two drinks. One of Fort Campbell’s finest charged with DUI during wild ride — Carson Dempsey

19-year-old Fort Campbell 15U Chinook mechanic Carson Dempsey was driving his grey Ford F-150 on the afternoon of June 10 when he passed a sheriff’s department deputy at 75 mph in a 55 mph zone while swerving all across the road. The deputy was actually en route to multiple calls about the same vehicle driving recklessly. He conducted a traffic stop and immediately smelled alcohol coming from Dempsey. Dempsy stated he had “two or three beers” before driving, but inside the vehicle was an empty bottle of vodka, an empty bottle of rum, and an almost empty bottle of vodka. Dempsey was transported to jail, where he faces multiple charges.
